John R. Officer, age 76, of Livingston, passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 6, 2019 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sue Ray Lamb, age 79 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Mike Head will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dry Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mrs. Lamb died Monday morning, August 5, 2019 at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta. She was born December 3, 1939 in Putnam County, to the late Rastis and Susie Buckner Smith. She was employed at Acme Boot Company and McCord’s. Sue Ray will be remembered as a sweet lady and loving granny to her family. She loved working in her flower gardens, watching hummingbirds and was especially fond of her Blue Healer dog. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband of 49 years, Terry “Pedo” Hunter Lamb; and by daughter, Angie Lamb Tellmann; and sisters, Vaughnell Myers and Jackie Jones. She is survived by son and daughter in law, Jeff and Terri Lamb; daughter, Becky Lamb and fiance, John Schrader, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Kali Lamb, Taylor Lamb, Fallon Terry and Reece Parks; sisters, Anna Faye Gage (her twin), Francis Beaty and Dottie Laycock; and by son-in-law, Michael Tellman. Sue Ray’s family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
A memorial service for Mrs. Penny Hunter White, age 44 of the Frogtown Community of Overton Co., will be held on Thursday evening, August 8th at 2 PM at the Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Buck Officiating. Mrs. White went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning, August 5, 2019 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. Mrs. White was born in Livingston to Ina Gertrude “Trudy” (Burgess) Hunter and the late Elbert Donald Hunter on January 13, 1975. First of all Penny loved her Lord and Savior and she shined with his light in her; and she loved her family very much and if you ever came to know her she loved you too. Survivors: Husband: Anthony White; 1 Son: Thomas White; 1 Daughter: Courtney White and her friend Kyle Sloan; Mother: Ina Gertrude (Trudy) Burgess Hunter; 1 Sister: Cindy Hunter; 2 Nieces: Natasha Hunter, Jessica Wright; 1 Nephew: Scott Copeland. Preceded in death: Her Father Elbert Donald Hunter. The family will be having a visitation to remember and reflect and share memories of Penny’s life on Wednesday evening, August 7, 2019 starting at 5 PM until 9 PM at the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston.
Memorial Services for Mr. Bobby Glenn Neely age 64 of Monterey, on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 7 PM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home in Livingston. The family will be receiving friends Thursday evening, the 8th starting at 5 PM. The family has chosen cremation. He passed away from this life at his home on Sunday morning, August 4, 2019. Mr. Bobby Glenn Neely was born in Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio to Nellie (Richardson) Neely and the late Marshall Neely on March 15, 1955. Bobby was an over the road truck driver. He loved his family and friends very much and will be greatly missed.

The family will welcome friends from 4pm until time of the service at the church. He passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at his home. He was born Monday, February 14, 1949 in Crossville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Charlie and Mollie Walker Jackson .
Funeral Services for Ellie Guy Dalton, 73 of Crossville, will be held at 11am on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with James Hickey and James Hutchings officiating. Burial will follow in Frasier’s Chapel Cemetery. Ellie passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Saturday, March 16, 1946 in Sparta, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Flora Kirby Guy. She enjoyed knitting, reading, spending time with her family and friends, and attending church at Crab Orchard Christian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Earl Clark Guy. Survivors include: Husband- Lindell Dalton of Crossville; Sons- Darren Guy (Carrie) of Sparta and Corey Guy (Sandy) of Sparta; Daughter- Mandy Ryan (Jon) of Walling; Step-Son- Bart Dalton; Granchildren- Scott Guy, Lindsey Guy, Todd Guy, Jack Guy, Kinzie Guy, Landrie Guy, Makenzie Ryan, and Camden Ryan; Sisters- Katherine Phifer of Sparta and Bettie Spiva of Clarksville; Brother- Floyd Guy of Sparta. A celebration of life service for Mrs. Marie Irene Pearson will be held Friday, August 9th at 5:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Dr. Charles McCaskey and Rev. Albert Willis will officiate. Marie passed away Tuesday morning, August 6, 2019 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1947 in Somerville, NJ to the late Irvin and Irene Druther Otto and was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raritan High School. Marie worked as an administrative assistant in various cities throughout New Jersey for companies including Roche and Johnson & Johnson (where she worked for 20 years). She moved to Cookeville in 1999 and worked at, and attended, First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and as well as with Susan Hogan and American Way Real Estate. Warm and caring, Marie was happy and always had a smile on her face. She enjoyed crocheting, golf, country music and NASCAR and generously shared her delicious Christmas cookies every holiday season. She has attended Algood United Methodist Church for the last few years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Alan Arrowsmith. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, William Pearson; son, Alan Arrowsmith II of Nashville; brother, Irvin Otto of Bayville, NJ; sisters, Joyce Mushlit and Helen (Robert) Myers, both of Pittsburgh, PA; and stepchildren, William (Sharon) Pearson, Jr. of Cookeville and Susan (Stephen) Blest of Allentown, PA; and step grandchildren, Stephanie and Savannah Pearson. A Memorial Service for Cynthia Turcott, 58 of Sparta, will be held at 3pm on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Cynthia passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019, at her home. She was born Wednesday, January 18, 1961 in Fairmont, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Itzen Marushin. She retired after 31 years with the Veteran’s Administration. She founded the Second Chance Ranch for rescued animals, mainly horses, which she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she preceded in death by two brothers, John Marushin and Joe Marushin. Survivors include: Husband- William Turcott of Sparta; Brother- Jim Marushin (Lori) of Fairmont, MN; Sister- Candace Shahan of MN. Celebration of Life Services for Attorney Bruce Edward Myers, Sr., age 76, of Livingston will be conducted 4 p.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Judge John Turnbull will officiate. The family will welcome friends on Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. until time of services. Military Honors will be provided by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Attorney Bruce Myers, Sr. passed from this life in the comfort of his home on Tuesday morning, August 6, 2019. Bruce was born in Portsmouth, VA., on January 10, 1943 to the late Carroll Lee Myers, Sr. & Musa Sessoms Myers. He Graduated UT Knoxville in 1966 with a degree in Accounting, then after his service in the ARMY received his degree in Law at UT Knoxville. Bruce practiced law in Livingston for 46 years, moving here in 1973 to join Millard’s Law practice. Bruce served on the Overton County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, Foster Care Board, and the Livingston Regional Hospital Board of Directors. He loved small town Livingston, Tennessee and the people in it. Bruce never met a stranger and was always inquisitive of the fine folks here and how they came about being here. He also was a Porsche lover even when his wouldn’t run and drive like it should.

Kernell, age 60 of Livingston, will be held on Monday, August 12, 2019 at 12 Noon from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Nelson Cemetery located in Monroe, Overton Co. Mr. Kernell passed away on Wednesday, August 07, 2019 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Kernell was born in Livingston on April 4, 1959 to the late Floyd L. and Dorothy E. (Bumblough) Kernell. David was a carpenter he laid carpet for a living. Survivors: Wife: Diann (Smith) Kernell; 1 Son: David C. Kernell and Partner Duston T. Johnson; 1 Daughter: Dana D. Kernell and Derrick Copeland; 1 Granddaughter: Draya Kernell; 2 Sisters: Betty Mabe, Amy Ledford; 2 Brothers: Mike Kernell, Rick Kernell. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening, August 11th starting at 6 PM until 9 PM.
