Woman Indicted After Stealing From Group Home

A former manager of a group home facility faces charges for allegedly stealing money from the elderly.

Putnam County authorities arrested Cynthia Renae Carr on Tuesday at the Jackson County Citizens Bank.

The District Attorney General’s Office began investigating Carr in January after receiving reports of possible exploitation at the group home. District Attorney Bryant Dunaway said the investigation found that Carr allegedly stole money from elderly residents living at the home.

A grand jury indicted Carr Monday for two counts of financial exploitation of an elderly or vulnerable adult.
