Main Street Paving To Begin April 2 In Algood

The Main Street paving project will get underway in Algood April 2.

City Administrator Keith Morrison said crews hope to finish the $430,000 project by April 10.

“That will start at Burton Branch. It will come down through Walmart and Sonic and down the side of Thompson Lane,” Morrison said. “It will also include new loops at Walmart intersection to improve that intersection. We will upgrade that controller and that traffic signal box as well.”

Morrison said crews will also work to grind out a rough section on Thompson Lane and an area that has begun to dip on Elm Street.

The city council approved bids for the project in August and weather delayed the paving until this spring.

Nashville-based Rogers Group will be conducting the project.
