The 18th Annual Mistletoe Market returns to the Leslie Town Centre this weekend.
Event Coordinator Kathryn Molina said that this year’s market will host some 50 vendors, ranging from clothing to candles to crafted goods. She said that the market will be a great opportunity to get holiday shopping crossed off early.
“I think especially this year more than ever, that shipping delays are going to be seen,” Molina said. “So this is a good opportunity to not only brush through those shipping issues, but also support local businesses.”
Molina said that the market is also a good cause. She said that this year’s funds will benefit the Friends of the Animals of Putnam County, who have helped the animal shelter after it suffered a tough year.
“We actually will have a silent auction upstairs and that benefits the Friends of the Animals Putnam County,” Molina said. “And then we also, the proceeds of our event goes to a drawing for a non-profit to receive $500.”
Molina said that by shopping at the market, attendees can help local businesses in their community as well.
“These vendors need community support, especially with what has been going on in 2020” “These vendors are in need of people to come and shop local. I mean Amazon, we obviously know is great, you buy it and it’s at your door the next day. But these people don’t have those products. They’re not on Amazon, they’re here, local, they’re supporting our community, they’re going to your business, they’re going to our business, and they need help more than ever.”
Molina said that the market starts at 9 a.m., and runs until 5 p.m. on Friday and 7 p.m. on Saturday. She said that there will be a $2 admission, and that most vendors will be cash-only.
