A Clarkrange woman died and another was injured in a head-on collision along Highway 127 in Cumberland County Saturday afternoon.
37-year old Evelyn Dyer died when her car crossed from the southbound lanes into the path of a vehicle driven by 57-year old Norma Cross. According to the preliminary report of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Cross swerved onto the northbound shoulder but could not avoid the head-on collision.
Emergency personnel extracted Dyer from the vehicle but she died at the emergency room. Cross and a passenger were both life-flighted from the scene.
The accident happened just before 4:30pm Saturday.
