Two Overton County Commissioners resigned Monday.
The county has 120 days to fill the vacant 3rd and 5th District seats. County Executive Ben Danner said he’s urging passed county commission candidates to consider filling the seats.
“My opinion is if the person who came in 4th during the 2014 election is interested, that would be the closest they could come to fulfilling the will of the voters,” Danner said.
Danner said 3rd District Commissioner Bruce Ledford resigned because he’s moving to Texas. 5th District Commissioner Jordan Danner resigned because of his current conflicts with his current job.
The County Commission will fill the vacant seats during the September 11th meeting at 6:00 p.m.
