State Representative Ryan Williams said he wants to move forward a bill involving Cookeville Regional retirement portfolios this legislative session.
The bill involves employee retirement portfolios that did not transfer from Cookeville over to CRMC. Williams said this is for employees who moved from Cookeville over to the hospital.
“What this would do, it would allow the transfer of those employees from Tennessee Consolidated Retirement Systems from the city of Cookeville, to Cookeville Regional Medical Center in their private act,” Williams said. “It won’t change any benefits, as it relates to the employees. It would just make sure that the liabilities and the assets are housed at the hospital and not in the city of Cookeville.”
Williams said he and Senator Paul Bailey presented bills last year on the issue. Williams said the bill passed in the house last year, but was unable to move in the Senate due to COVID.
Williams said he expects the bill to move forward later in the session.
