White County School Board Sets Date For Director Contract Negotiations

The White County Board of Education will start its December 15 meeting discussing contract negotiations with Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger.

Chairman Bob Young said standard negotiations happen in April, but because Dronebarger’s four-year contract ends in June there would have to be a complete renewal. Young said having the discussion earlier in the school year gives both the board and the director more time to prepare based on the results of the meeting.

“If we waited until April, and decided not to renew his contract in April, then we have a very short period of time to try to get another director in and then try and make decisions for the upcoming school year which involve budget, hiring, things of that nature,” Young said.

The meeting will take place on December 14 at Cassville Elementary. Young said the contract will be available to the public on the school district’s website by November 15.
