The White County Commission delayed its meeting until next week.
A quorum of members were present at the regular meeting time Monday, enough to make a motion to recess the meeting until Monday, May 22.
White County High School held its graduation exercises Monday evening, the recess gave commissioners the opportunity to attend the service.
When it reconvenes next week, the White County Commission will consider various measures, including a sewer agreement with the city of Sparta.
At the April meeting, commissioners suggested changing the group’s rules to permanently move May’s meeting because of graduation. That same rule is in effect for January and February meetings, so the commission doesn’t hold meetings on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and President’s Day.
