White County Chamber of Commerce President to Retire, Replacement Approved

White County’s Chamber of Commerce President has announced his retirement, and his replacement has already been chosen.

Current Chamber of Commerce President Marvin Bullock is set to retire later this month. He is being replaced by current Executive Assistant Jenny Dale. Bullock said he has complete confidence in Dale taking over the role of president.

“This year they said do you know of anybody for a replacement,” Bullock said. I said if you can talk Jenny Dale into doing it, Jenny can do this work. She’s qualified, she’s got the credentials, she’s passionate about the area, and she can hit the ground running.”

The Board of Directors held a vote to decide Dale would be the next President of the Chamber of Commerce. Dale previously worked at the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce for over four years in addition to being with the White County Chamber of Commerce since 2015.

Bullock has been with the White County Chamber of Commerce since April of 2015.

“Had I discovered this work when I was in my 20s, I probably never would have done anything else,” Bullock said. “It’s a lot of work, more stuff come through the door than can possibly be done, but its also very gratifying work and very satisfying work.”

Bullock said he is proud of his time at the White County Chamber of Commerce and is proud of he work he has done for Sparta’s economy.

“Eight years ago you could drive down Bockman Way I think 48 empty buildings, that you can see from Bockmanway, and now we are down to ten and four of those are already earmarked for things,” Bullock said.

Bullocks’ last day as as President is September 15. Dale will take over duties on September 16.
