White Co Schools Add New Secure Entrance Systems To 3 Schools

All White County Schools now have secure entrances completing the system’s goal of increasing safety systemwide.

Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said new features have been added to White County Middle School, High School and Cassville Elementary.

“Every school in our district you can’t just walk in,” Dronebarger said. “You have to be buzzed into the very front door into the secure vestibules that corral you into the office. At this point, you can’t come into any White County School unless you buzz in first.”

Dronebarger said Northfield Elementary also received an updated version to its existing system. Dronebarger said a safety grant as well as federal COVID funding made the projects possible.

The White County School Board made safety an emphasis entering this school year. Dronebarger said this is one of the many improvements made to ensure students feel safe. New gates, cameras and window coverings have also been added.
