Obituaries For Wednesday, February 20

Mrs. June Vickers age 85 of Cookeville died Wednesday February 20, 2019 at 7 a.m. in Cumberland House Hospice in Crossville. Funeral arrangments are incomplete.

Mrs. Burnece Franklin age 100 of Cookeville died Tuesday February 19, 2019 at 7:45 p.m. in Morningside of Cookeville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Dr. Paul Nicholas Jacquin, M.D. 74, of Cookeville, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at his home surrouned by his family. Paul was born in Joliet, Illionis on Saturday, March 25, 1944 to the late Paul Benjamin and Marian Bernice (Franklin) Jacquin. Dr. Jacquin founded the Cookeville Regional Medical Center Cancer Center in 1996. Paul chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Anita Young, age 59 of Baxter, died suddenly Tuesday February 29, 2019 at her home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mr. Otis Howard Hargis age 94 of Cookeville, will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Eckle Cemetery in Overton Co., TN. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2019 starting at 6 PM until 9 PM. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy Harris. He passed away from this life on Monday Morning, February 18, 2019 at the Overton County Health and Rehab. Mr. Otis Howard Hargis was born in Monterey, Putnam Co., TN on March 27, 1924 to the late Buren and Eula (Beaty) Hargis. Otis was a member of the Zion Hill Methodist Church and served his country in the Army. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Joe T. Hill, age 81, of Livingston will be conducted 1 p.m., Thursday, February 21, 2019 from the West End Church of Christ. Bro. Kerry Duke of the West End Church of Christ will officiate. Mr. Joe Hill passed from this life on Monday morning, February 18, 2019 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born in Clay County on July 5, 1937 to the late Milton “Doc” & Cecil Moredock Hill. Joe was a member and Elder of the West End Church of Christ. Joe loved his wife and sons. He loved fishing, and working with his sons, building Hot Rods. Joe loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his dog Bennie. Joe leaves his loving wife Mrs. Rillie Ramsey Hill of Livingston; sons, Tony Hill & wife Kim of Livingston, Joey Hill & wife Donna of Livingston, and Mark “Hun” Hill & wife Renee of Rickman; sisters, Ruth Maynord of Cookeville, and Betty Barnes & husband Bill of Rickman; grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Anthony Hill, Miranda Nowell, and Kendra Hill; great-grandchildren, Maddie Hill, Beckett Smith, Hudson Nowell, and Kylie Brooke Smith. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Hill, Malcolm Hill, Dan Hill, Jerry Hill; sisters, Kathy Langford, and Wynell Terry. The family will welcome friends on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until time of services at the West End Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Jerry Darrell “Bud” Long, age 74, of Cookeville will be held Friday, February 22nd, 2019 at 10:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Dave Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 21, 2019, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Friday, February 22, 2019, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home. Bud passed away Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. Bud was born Saturday, July 8, 1944 in Cookeville, Tennessee to Jesse and Dimple Long. Bud loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. He worked as a Service Technican at Sears for thirty years (He started working for Sears in the old Big K building).

Memorial services for Mr. Robert Lee Nokes, age 80 of Quebeck, will be held at 3pm on Friday, February 22, 2019, in the chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with James Dukes officiating. Mr. Nokes passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Born Thursday, December 22, 1938 in Nashville, he was the son of the late Carroll Nokes and the late Bertha Woodard Nokes. Mr. Nokes, better known as “Elvis”, grew up in Nashville and moved to White County 43 years ago. He retired from Robert Orr / Sisco after 35 years of service. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Surviving family members include: wife – Donna Maggard Nokes of Sparta; son – Mike Nokes of Quebeck; four grandchildren – Amanda, Brittany, Christen and Cody; sister – Wanda of Nashville; brother – Richie of Nashville; Eight great grandchildren also survive. A period of visitation with the family will be held Friday, prior to the service, from 2 until 3pm at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gerelene Wiley, 78 of Cookeville will be held February 23 at 1 pm in the Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Tosh officiating. Interment will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Wiley died Saturday February 16, 2019 at 2:16 a.m. at Season’s Hospice in Phoenixville, PA. Gerelene’s family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until service time at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner.

Memorial services for Cathleen Lorraine Loveday, age 54, of Cookeville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday February 23 at Colonial View Baptist Church. Cathleen passed away Sunday morning February 17, 2019 at her home. She fought a tough battle with cancer for many years, facing it with relentless perseverance, unwavering faith, and true strength. She was born August 5, 1964 in Anchorage, AK to the late James Daniel Delaney and Jane Evlyn Lewis Delaney. She graduated from Westover High School in Fayetteville, NC in 1982, and she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tennessee Tech in 1995. She worked as a cardiac nurse at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and later at TN Heart. Cathleen was a selfless, loving wife and mother, who always put her family first.

Funeral services for Mr. William Ashton Grimsley, age 89 of Cookeville will be held Saturday February 23 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. His family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at Dyer Funeral Home.
