Ms. Inez McGee, age 96 of Cookeville, passed away on Tuesday evening April 2, 2019 at NHC Healtcare of Cookeville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

A Masonic service for Derial Quentin Whitehead, age 77, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 at 7:30 pm in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Presley Funeral Home. Visitation in Arkansas will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Walkers Creek, Arkansas with funeral services immediately following at the church with Bro. Jonathan Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas. Mr. Whitehead passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at his home in Cookeville, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family, due to complications from acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Derial Quentin Whitehead was born Friday, January 9, 1942 in Walkers Creek, Arkansas to the late Clemon Quentin Whitehead and Mary Helen Nabors Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army driving EPC carriers. Later changed over to Garrison and became a cook and was discharged with honors. He was employed by Triangle Refineries, Houston, TX, for 11 years. He resigned to become his own boss of his own business until 1991. Served his remaining working years as a catastrophe adjuster for Pilot Catastrophe Services, Mobile, AL.

Funeral services for Elizabeth Maxwell, age 74, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday April 4 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Maxwell (South) Cemetery. Ms. Maxwell passed away Sunday morning March 31 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 – 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Funeral Mass for Mr. Lawrence Kowalski, age 78, of Cookeville, will be at 12 noon Thursday April 4 at St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Mr. Kowalski passed away Saturday March 30 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, and again Thursday from 11 a.m. – 12 noon at the church.

Funeral Services For Mary L. Farley, Age 76, Of Monterey, Tennessee, Will Be Conducted On Thursday, April 4, 2019, At 12:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Floyd Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Ms. Farley Was Born On December 7, 1942, In Bucyrus, Ohio, To The Late Haskel And Beverly Grogan. Ms. Farley Passed Away On Tuesday, April 2, 2019, At Erlanger Hospital In Chattanooga, Tennessee. Ms. Farley Was A Factory Worker. She Was A Member Of Vines Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. She Is Survived By 2 Daughters, Melanie Short Of Monterey, TN, Elizabeth Renea Grogan, Cookeville, TN; 3 Sons And 2 Daughters-In-Law, James D. “Buddy” And Patty L. Farley Of Monterey, TN, Bro. Richie E. And Doylene Farley Of Crawford, TN, John P. Farley Of Ellijay, GA; 10 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; Special Nephew, James R. Grogan III; And Special Friend, Karen Cannon Of Monterey, TN. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Husband, Ronald Eugene “Cotton” Farley. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mr. Timmy Lee Murphy, age 55 of the Rickman Community of Overton Co., will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 10 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Flatt Creek Cemetery in Overton Co. Mr. Murphy passed on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at his sons residence. Mr. Murphy was born in Livingston on July 1, 1963 to the late R.L. Murphy and Edith (McDonald) Murphy. Timmy was a member of the Fredonia Community Church. Survivors: 2 Sons: Scott Murphy, Josh Murphy; Mother: Edith Murphy; 1 Sister: Teresa Barlow; 1 Brother: Butch R.L. Murphy, Jr.; 8 Grandchildren: Billie Lee and her husband Johnny; Scott Murphy, Jr., Jacob Murphy, Reanna White, Joseph White, Rusty Murphy, Weezy Murphy, Bucky Murphy; 1 Great Grandson: Karson Lee. Preceded in death: Wife: Gale Murphy; Father: R.L. Murphy; Grandparents: Tick and Myrtle McDonald, Joe and Pearl Murphy; Father in-law: Herbert Crabtree. Funeral services for Linda L. Harp, age 71, of Algood will be held Friday, April 5th, 2019 at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with John Chowning officiating. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Linda passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at her home in Algood. Linda Lee Harp was born Saturday, March 27, 1948 in Cookeville to the late Luther Clay Dishman and Dortha Mae Swallows Dishman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Dishman and Carl Dishman. She is survived by two daughters, Tammy Harp of Algood and Donna Harp of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Lindsey Gibbons (Travis) of Cookeville, Travis Roberts of Algood, Brittany Rines (Charles) of Southhaven, Mississippi, and Darnell Woody of Cookeville; great-granddaughter, Tinsley Rines of Southhaven, Mississippi; three sisters, Mary Ann Allen of Rickman, Beulah Roberts (Bobby) of Cookeville, and Goldie Reeves (William) of Ocala, Florida; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 5, 2019, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Lynn Allen Livingston, Sr., age 81 of Monroe will be conducted 2 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Randy Pickens will officiate. Burial to follow in the Daniels Cemetery. Mr. Livingston passed from this life on Saturday afternoon, March 30, from the comfort of his home. He was born June 9, 1937 in Detroit MI to the late Archabauld & Eula Allen Livingston. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. Lynn loved camping, antiquing, collecting cars, car shows,an avid sportsman and taking care of his late wife. Lynn loved his family very much and his dog Sonny. Lynn leaves behind his son, Dr. Lynn Livingston, Jr. and wife Johanna of Snellville, GA; daughters, Lea Sanregret & husband Robert of Snellville, GA, and Lois Barr & husband William of Royal Oak, MI; grandchildren, Joshua, Leanna, Leslie, and Jessica Livingston, Lauren Joswak, Sydney & Shelby Sanregret, and Sophia & Ryker Barr; sister, Nancy Chastain of Raleigh, NC; and mother-in-law, Ruby Garrett of Livingston. In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Sue Garrett Livingston; sister, Shirley Bechtell; and brother, James Livingston. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening, April 4, 2019 from 5 until 9 p.m., then on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of services at Livingston Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life for Linda Faye Phillips, 69 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Inurnment will be in the Cookeville City Cemetery at a later date. Linda passed from this life on Friday, March 29, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Linda was born Sunday, August 7, 1949 in Portland, Tennessee and she was the daughter of the late Samuel Otto and Clara Bell (Deasy) Phillips.

Memorial service for Lawrence “Larry” Allen Sanders, 72 of Sparta, will be 1:00p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2019, at First Baptist Church, 308 North Spring Street, Sparta. Larry passed away peacfully on April 1, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Sparta, surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born September 17,1946, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Marshall and Pauline (Reum) Sanders. Larry was retired from Wagner/Cooper Industries/Federal-Mogul (Sparta) after 28 years of service as a machine mechanic. He enjoyed working on and drag racing cars as well as attending cruise-ins in his custom-built Rat Rod. He was well known for his knowledge of engines, transmissions, and caburetors and was always eager to help a fellow hot rod enthusiast solve problems. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Sparta and served as a deacon.Larry was a Vietnam veteran and served with the Navigators and Campus Crusade ministries. He was a gentle, kind-hearted man who loved to make people smile. He was preceded by his parents and twin brothers, Leonard and Leslie. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Pamela (Porter); children Angel (Chad) Crawford of Leander, TX, Andrew of San Antonio,TX, Allen (Trisha) of Sparta; twin sister Laura (Doug) Snyder of Hamilton, MT, Brother Marshall (Sandy) Woodland Park, CO; grandchildren Haven and Caleb Crawford of Leander, TX; Jasmine, Logan, and Tori Sanders of San Antonio,TX; and Riley and Caleigh Morris of Sparta; several sisters-and brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his many faithful friends. Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. with memorial service to follow at 1:00p.m.

Celebration of Life Service for Edgar Antonio “Eddie” Vila, age 74, of Cookeville will be held 3:00pm Saturday, April 6th in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Blaylock officiating. Eddie passed away Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born, June 13, 1944 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Ernesto Rivera Vila and Herminier Jimnez Munoz. Eddie will long be remembered as a classical guitar builder, the “Vila”. He was a life long Bible scholar. Loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: two brothers, Rene and Ernie Vila; sister, Brenda Silvers. He is survived by: his wife, Vickie Harper Vila; three sons, Eddie Vila, Jr. of Texas, Matt Vila of Florida, Jeff Vila of Michigan; three daughters, Liza Guy of New York, Adelka Vila of Texas and Jarrah Soifer of Cookeville; fifteen grandchildren, Mikala Hill, Naomi Vila, Savannah Vila, Sierra Vila, Liberty Vila, Josie Vila, Dylan Vila, Megan Vila, Anthony Guy, Adriele Guy, Amber Guy, Madison Vila, Jasper Vila, Bryce Vila, and William Vila; sisters, Sonya Gutierrez in Florida and Maria Arce. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 6, 2019, 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home.
