Mr. James Pollard, age 65 of Sparta, formerly of Nashville, passed away Tuesday morning June 30, 2020 at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Troy Hatcher 94 of Cookeville died Saturday June 27, 2020 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mark Andrew Jacklich, 68, of Sparta, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at his home. No services are planned at this time.

Mr. Whittaker Was Born On August 10, 1946, In Monterey, Tennessee, To The Late Vetter And Renda Blaylock Whittaker. Mr. Whittaker Passed Away On Monday, June 29, 2020, At His Home. Mr. Whittaker Was Retired From Avco Corporation. He Was A United States Army Vietnam Veteran And An Officer In The Army National Guard. Funeral Services for Linda Jane Broom, age 68 of Sparta, will begin Wednesday, July 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Interment at Clifty Cemetery. She passed away on June 28, 2020 at Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, at the age of 68. She was born on February 14, 1952 in White County, Tennessee to Rosa Lee and Lawrence Lewis. Survivors include her husband, Jack Broom; Daughter, LeAnn and Lewis Qualls of Sparta; Brother, Lawrence (Larry) and Linda of Maynardville, TN; Brother, Ron and Ann Lewis of Crossville, TN; Brother, Joseph (Frank) Lewis of Eastland, TN; Sister, Karen Blaylock of Eastland, TN; Several nieces and nephews; Grandchildren, Justin Ray Qualls and Tristian Carter Qualls of Sparta. Funeral services for Bobby “Bob” Edward Burton, 83 of Silver Point, will be Wednesday, July 1st at 1 PM at Silver Point Church of Christ. Bro. Luke Wilken and Bro. John Whitson will officiate. Interment will follow in G.V. Herren Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and at the church Wednesday from 11 AM until service time. Mr. Burton died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 13, 1937 in the Shaw Branch Community of Jackson County to the late Bill and Bertie Willoughby Burton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Ott, Carl, John and Martin Burton. He was a member of Silver Point Church of Christ. He was retired from McCord’s of Cookeville and served at the Silver Point Convenience Center. He enjoyed volleyball, whittling and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services for I V Byers, 79, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community. Survivors include her Husband: Louis Byers of Cookeville; 3 Sons: Kelly (Sharon) Byers of Cookeville, Alan (Angie) Byers of Baxter, Brent (Laura) Byers of Cookeville; 2 Daughters: Donna (James) Dennis of Cookeville, and Sheila (Mark) Oakley of Cookeville; Grandchildren: Amanda Smith, Brandon Dennis, Andrew Byers, Andrea Martin, Megan Broman, Mary Alice Bales, Kaylin Byers, Clay Byers, Hannah Beth Byers, Ryleigh Byers, Sophea Byers, Braxton Bennett, and Shelby Pullum; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: M B Ragland and Marie Johnson, both of Gainesboro; and many close friends and relatives.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Mr. Allison died Saturday June 27, 2020 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Gary is survived by his wife of 20 years, Vicki Kay Martin Allison; stepson, Brian (Shelby) Bennett of Cookeville, stepdaughter, Katie Bennett of Carthage; daughters, Bridgett Goff of Cookeville and Rhiannon Allison of Cookeville; grandchildren, Camden Bennett, Caleb and Cassidy Goff and Austin and Angeline Peet; brother, Herbert (Patsy) Allison of Baxter; and by sister, Roxanne Carmack of Hilham; Pallbearers will be family and friends.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Dyer Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. James Shenko will officiate. Mrs. McCormick passed from this life on Saturday, June 27, 2020, from Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born in Overton County on June 12, 1938, to the late John R. and Veo Hogue Johnson. She loved her family and her Lord. She enjoyed going to yard sales, talking to people, and meeting new friends. She was a good storyteller and enjoyed working in her flower garden. Mrs. Liz leaves behind her daughters Angela Jones and husband Peter of Raywick, KY, Vickie White of Livingston, and Beth Geary and husband Mark of Livingston; son William McCormick and wife Meloni of Galloway, OH; grandchildren Lacey and Cassie White and Alex, Max, and Sarah Geary; sister Katherine Johnson; brother Bob Johnson and wife Ann of Warren, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Service for Rose Ella (Anderson) Loftis Smith, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 2, 2020, at 10:00 am in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Rose passed from this life on Monday, June 29, 2020, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. Rose is survived by, Grandsons, Erich and Stacy Loftis, and Brian Loftis; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Veronica and Simon, all of Houston, Texas; and Step-Granddaughter, Paula Ford.

Funeral services for Mr. John “Bud” Wade Davis, age 88 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 2nd at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Frank Hickman will officiate. Interment will follow in Browns Mill Cemetery. Mr. Davis died Monday June 29, 2020 in Sparta from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services for Bessie Mae Griner, age 97 of Cookeville, will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Cemetery (North). Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 3:00-8:00P.M. and Thursday 9:00 A.M. till time of the service at 11:00. Mrs. Griner passed away on June 26, 2020. She attended Shipley Church and was loved as a Quilting Artist. Bessie was born on January 26, 1923 in Putnam County to the late Lewis A. and Allie C. (Countiss) Gentry.

Funeral services for Lillie Mae Christian, 84, of Gainesboro, will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Clementsville Cemetery in Clay County. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Cunningham Bryant, age 90 Sparta, will be conducted 2:00pm Thursday, July 2, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. Mary passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020. It would have been the 92nd birthday of her late husband Jimmy Bryant, whom passed away October 10, 2019. They were married 72 years.She was a hard worker which was evident from her work career that spanned from the shirt factory to a cook at Bondecroft Elementary School and finally worked as a cook at Sonic. When she was not at one of her many jobs, she was a homemaker and loved to mow her yard.The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon until 2:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 9 pm at Speck Funeral Home. Mrs. Valentine passed from this life on Sunday evening, June 28, 2020, from her residence. She was born in Pennsylvania on June 15, 1932, to the late Lester and Hazel Wert Pry. She loved her family very much and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time in her flower gardens. She frequently listened to Gospel music and always found time to read her Bible. Mrs. Valentine leaves behind her daughters Betty Ann Leib and husband Earl of Mechanicsburg, PA and Linda Woodring and husband Allen of Laudisburg, PA; sons Ed Valentine and wife Grace of Lancaster, PA, Jim Valentine and wife Lila of Allons, TN, and Glen Valentine of Dayton, TX; grandchildren Erica Garber and husband Mike, Heather Leib, Jason Woodring and wife Melissa, Josh Woodring and wife Ruby, Melissa Hinnebush and husband Dan, Laura Campbell and husband Abram, Jamie Valentine and wife Lori, Brady Valentine, and Brody Valentine.
