Obituaries For Tuesday, April 27
Billy “Bill” H. Waller, 74 of Gainesboro, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Bill was born Sunday, June 9, 1946, in Silver Point, Tennessee, and he was the son of the late Wilbur Frank Waller and the late Laveda (Maxwell) Waller. Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was known for his storytelling and he never met a stranger. He was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed. Bill is survived by, Wife of 52 years, Donna Waller; 3 Children, Billy and Christine Waller, Jeff and Dawn Waller, and Jay and Laura Waller. Bill chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Funeral services for Mr. Herbert “Herby” Lee Sims, Jr., more affectionately known as Herby, age 78 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, April 28 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Big Springs Cemetery. Herby passed away Sunday, April 25 at the St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. He was retired from Red Kap where he spent his entire career operating a tow motor. Herby was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish. He did not mind what work he was doing just as long as it was outside – whether on his tractor or riding the trails of Pass Cove on his John Deere Gator. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He could often be found telling them stories of all the trouble their parents caused. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Black Sims; two sons, Oscar Lee Sims and wife Stephanie, Greg Sims and wife Kristy; and daughter, Teresa Ann Wikre and husband Lowell. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home. John Lawson will officiate.
Funeral services for Tracey Thomas, 57, of Bloomington Springs, TN, will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at 1 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. The family has chosen cremation. He passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021, in Cookeville, TN. He was born December 25, 1963, in Detroit, MI, to the late R B Thomas and Janice Lois Alcorn Allen. He was a factory worker at Fleetguard, and attended the Sunlight Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Aunt: Jewel Mitchell; and 1 Uncle: Richard Thomas. Survivors include 1 Son: Tracey Blake Thomas, Jr. of Hartsville, TN; 2 Brothers: Timothy Drake Thomas of Independence, MO and Terry Thomas of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services.
Funeral services for Deloris Freitas, age 84 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday April 28 beginning at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Pat Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Freitas passed from this life Tuesday, April 20. Deloris was a loving wife and a best friend to her daughters and daughter in law. She loved her grandchildren and always enjoyed going out to eat. She loved everyone she knew and some she didn’t. Deloris is survived by three daughters, Diania (Dean) Seitz, Debra (Donald) Lear, and Annette Carter. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, April 28 from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilma Faye McCormick York, age 72, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Jerry Murphy will officiate. Burial to follow in the Dugan Smith Cemetery. Mrs. Wilma passed from this life from the comfort of her home on Monday morning, April 26, 2021. She was born in Overton County, Tennessee on September 17, 1948 to the late Bill and Lena Turner McCormick. Baptist in faith, Wilma enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting and antiques. Her greatest joy was her family especially her grandchildren. Wilma also enjoyed country music especially Conway Twitty. Wilma leaves behind her son, Johnny York and wife Amy of Alpine, TN; daughters, Patty Hall and husband William of Monroe, TN, and Patricia Reagan of Livingston. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services at the Livingston Funeral Home.

She Attended University Of Cincinnati And Was A Member Of Mensa. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of 60 Years, Lonnie Davis Of Monterey; Daughter, Daphne Davis Of Cincinnati; and sons, Barry Alan Davis And April Davis Of Crossville, and Terry Davis Of Cincinnati. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Friday, April 30, 2021, From 4:00 PM Until 6:00 PM.
A Memorial Service for Troy Eugene Gore, 59 of Sparta, will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, April 30 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Cameron Howard officiating. Mr. Gore passed away on Friday, April 23 at his home. Troy was an avid motorsports enthusiast who enjoyed bringing life back to all things mechanical. He was a loving Daddy, Brother, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, riding motorcycles, playing bocce ball, and playing with his grandchildren. Troy brought a light to this Earth that will never go dim as he always had a kind word and a smile for everyone he met. He is survived by his children, Lindsey Gore, Cody Gore, and Lee (Kim) Braswell. The family will welcome friends from 4:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home.
