Doyle W. Reeves, Age 60, Of, Monterey, Tennessee, Passed Away On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Reeves Was Born On July 31, 1958, In Monterey, Tennessee, To The Late George And Lula Bilbrey Reeves. Mr. Reeves Was A General Laborer. He Is Survived By, 2 Sisters And Brothers-In-Law, Dimple And JD Bilbrey Of Monterey, TN, Anna And C.B. Guffey Of Hanging Limb, TN; 1 Brother And Sister-In-Law, Carl And Dee Reeves Of Monterey, TN. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By 2 Sisters, Lucille Looper And Earlene McCloud. Memorial Services Will Be Announced At A Later Date.

Ms. Myrtle J. Brown age 80 of Cookeville, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2018 at the Overton Co. Health and Rehab. There are no funeral services planned. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 1, 2018 starting at 6 PM until 9 PM. The family has chosen cremation after the visitation.

Funeral services for Ms. Ruth Philomena Fledering “Mama Ruth” Payne, age 79 of Sparta, will be conducted 6:00pm Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Sparta First Baptist Church. Burial will be 10am Friday, November 2, 2018 at Highland Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at her residence. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3:00pm until service time at the church.

Funeral services for Roy Hoover Wilhite, age 89, of Sparta will be held Friday, November 2nd, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with nephew, Pastor Bobby Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Elrod Cemetery. Mr. Wilhite passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Life Care Center of Sparta in Sparta, Tennessee. He was born Tuesday, November 6, 1928 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Chester Berl Wilhite and Anna Lee Howell Wilhite. Mr. Wilhite was the oldest standing member of Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church, where he had served in many capacities, Sunday School Director, Song Leader, and Deacon. After he was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War, he went to work at GTE, (the only job he ever held) retiring from there in 1987 with 18 years perfect attendance. Most of his time was spent during his retirement years, taking care of his wife Irene until her death in 2001. He loved his grandchildren. He always had a close relationship with his siblings. He was an avid baseball fan. In addition to his parents, Roy Hoover Wilhite was preceded in death by: his wife Irene; sister, Norma Farris; brother, Reed Wilhite. He is survived by: daughter, Kelly (Steve) Shockley of Lebanon; sons, Jeffery (Jerri Lynn) Wilhite of Algood, and Jerry (Dottie) Wilhite of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, Jared (Kristin) Wilhite, Jonathan Wilhite, Jordan (Seth) Melton, Jessica Wilhite, Jae Wilhite, Jolie Wilhite, Schuyler Shockley, and Reece Shockley; five sisters, Nell Moore, Virginia Dela Torre, Wilma Lee, Bessie Saylors, and Trena Little; brother, Ralph Wilhite; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 1, 2018, 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday, November 2, 2018, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Herman Lee Bean, age 77 of the Hardy’s Chapel Community of Overton Co., will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 1 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Cookeville. He passed away on Tuesday morning, October 30, 2018 at the Overton Co. Health and Rehab. Mr. Bean was born in Gainsboro on January 5, 1941 to the late Hubert and Lena Avo Bean Bennett. Mr. Herman Bean is a United States Army Veteran. Survivors: Wife: Jewell Bean; 2 Daughters: Crystal Bean and Fiancé` Gary Melton, Mary Ann Qualls and husband Raymond; His fur baby/ favorite child: Duke Bean; 2 Sisters: Dorothy Noye and husband George, Betty Waters and husband Dan; 1 Grandson: Christopher Qualls; 3 Special Caregivers: Ashley Laycock, Keshia Watson, Kati England. A host of family and friends also survive. Preceded in death by: His Parents: Hubert and Lena Avo Bean Bennett. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening, November 1, 2018 from 5 PM to 9 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Moore, 94 of Algood will be held Friday November 2, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Algood United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Moore’s family will receive friends Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at Algood Methodist Church. Mrs. Moore died Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 6:10 p.m. in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Charles E. Stout, age 84 of Crawford, will be held Friday, November 2, 2018 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Phillips officiating. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery Mausoleums. Charles passed from this life Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Thursday, July 26, 1934 in Putnam County. He was the son of the late Charlie Stout and the late Beulah Thompson Vickers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and was a friend to all who knew him. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Mr. Stout is survived by his wife: Juanita Stout of Crawford; 1 Daughter: Glenda Stout of Crawford; 1 Son: Jimmy Stout of Cookeville; 2 Granddaughters: Mary Pamela McCrary of Crawford, Tammy Charlene Schluter of Putnam County; 3 Grandsons: Charles Douglas Harris of Cookeville, Jimmy Charles Stout of Cookeville, Cody Glenn Stout of Cookeville; Numerous great grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Stout was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Stout. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 2, 2018 from 11:00am until time of service at 1:00pm.

Memorial services for Daniel Lee Rose, 59, of Cookeville, will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 11 A.M. at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. The family has chosen cremation. He passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at his residence. He was born June 10, 1959, in Brunswick, Maine, to Sylvia Rose and the late Robert Rose. He was married to Holly Robertson Rose, who survives. He worked in sales at Dunham Sports, and served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his Wife: Holly Robertson Rose of Cookeville; his Mother: Sylvia Rose of Maine; 1 Brother: Alan Rose and wife, Sandy; 2 Sisters: Linda Rose Deskins and Letha Rose Wesley and husband, Bob; Nieces and Nephews: Keath Deskins, Christie Engleman, Miranda Jacobs, Roxanne Armstrong, Co-Lee Grev, Misty Rose, Andrew Doble, Bob Wesley, Kara Robertson, Liam Robertson and Robert Mangrum; Caregivers: Jason Robertson and Charlie Williamson; and many friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jannetta Selby Bandy, age 90 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Jannetta Selby Bandy, age 90 of Sparta, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Mrs. Bandy was born on June 28, 1928 in Sparta to the late Odie Lee and Alta Pearl Judd Selby. Jannetta was a retired beautician who also operated a daycare for many years. In addition to her husband and parents, Jannetta is also preceded in death by her siblings Arnold Bourland, Hazel Canary, Betty Jean Wilson and Franklin Delano Selby; granddaughter Allison Jill Bennett; and grandson Matthew Todd Bennett. Funeral services for Harold Festus Robbins, age 79, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Gillock and Evangelist Seth Presley officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Memorial Gardens. Harold Festus Robbins passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at his home in Cookeville. He was born Monday, March 6, 1939 in Monterey to the late Festus Robbins and Julia Ann Scarbrough Robbins. Harold was a long time member of Knight’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He was a member of the Upper Cumberland Horseback Riders Club. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and refereeing ball. Harold was retired from Cummins Filtration. He will always be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: brothers, Henry B. Robbins and Richard Franklin; sister, Becky Bean, and her husband, “Red” Bean; son-in-law, Jason Bender. He is survived by: his wife of fifty seven years, Janie Robbins; daughters, Kim Robbins, Andrea (David) Burlison, and Kristie Bender, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Zach) McHenry of Cookeville, Justin (Mary Kate) Burlison of Quebeck, and Christian Brown of Baxter, Justin (Misty) Brown of Cookeville, Kali Miller of Texas; great-grandchildren, Brylee Brown, Londyn Brown, Emerie Brown, and Neyland Brown, Jace Freedle, Paisley Walker, A” Miracle Miller; a special daughter, Sharon Burlison; several nieces, nephews, family and friends. Memorial services for Michael DeFosche, 68 of Whitleyville, will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Michael died suddenly at his home in Whitleyville. Michael had a love of music, stemming back to his early teens, loving everything from rock and roll to bluegrass. His later years brought him to the Opry and his love for old time fiddle blossomed. In the 80’s, he played fiddle and combined his vocal talents in a group called The Stillhouse Reelers. He later played back up musician on stage at the Grand Ole Opry to folks like Bob Douglas. He loved living simply, out in “the holler”, in the backwoods of Whitleyville. He loved fly-fishing, and because of his catch and release belief, got to know most of the fish who resided in his stream! He became a member of the Audubon Society, as well as a falconer and committed himself to the rescue and rehabilitation of many birds of prey. His talents included not only playing guitar, banjo, and fiddle, but also restoring and building them. He was predeceased by his parents: Alfred and Rachel DeFosche. Survivors include a Brother: Alfred DeFosche and wife Sharon, of Cookeville; a Sister: Cheryl DeFosche Cox of Clinton, CT; and Nieces: Meadow DeFosche Christ and husband David, of NC, and Rachel Cox Sackett and husband Gregory, of CT.

Funeral services for Billie Evelyn Roberts, 88 of Ball Ground, Georgia, formerly of Silver Point, will be Sunday, November 4 at 3 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community of Putnam County. Mrs. Roberts passed peacefully Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at The Oaks at Towne Lakes Assisted Living in Woodstock, GA. She was born March 24, 1930 in Silver Point to the late Bethel Robinson Prichard and Martha Elizabeth Carr Prichard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband MJ “Jay” Roberts on October 7, 1995, sons Benny and Terry Roberts, grandson Billy Roberts, sister Betty Virginia Jernigan, daughter-in-law Amy Roberts. Family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8PM and Sunday from 1 to 3 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Christopher Michael George Gray, age 22, of Cookeville will be held Monday, November 5th, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Trinity Assembly with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Christopher passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at his home in Cookeville. He was born in Sarasota, Florida, on Saturday, March 9, 1996. At age 4, he moved with his parents and brother, Michael, to Cookeville, Tennessee, where he lived ever since. He was a good athlete, playing soccer, tennis, basketball, and football, but his favorite sport was weightlifting. He won the first weightlifting competition he entered. He liked to hike, to shoot guns, and he had a passion for muscle cars. He enjoyed getting together with small groups of friends and was known by all as a cheerful, loving, kind, and considerate person. Chris had compassion for all, and it was no surprise that he chose a healthcare profession when he graduated Cookeville High School in 2014. He became a pharmacy technician and loved working with the Christian staff at Satellite Med. He had a heart for the Lord and accepted Christ at an early age, faithfully attending Trinity Assembly all his life. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed. More people than we can count say their lives are better for knowing him. He is survived by his father, Brent Leon Gray, and his mother, Lori Ann Benassi; his brother, Michael Gray; his paternal grandmother, Sarah Gray; his maternal grandparents, Richard and Shirley Benassi; his uncles, Baron Gray and Scott Benassi; his aunt, Robin Liles; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Gray, and his paternal uncle, Burke Gray. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home and Monday, November 5, 2018, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Trinity Assembly prior to the Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Presley Funeral Home.

A Memorial service for Paul Michael Ryan, age 38 of Sparta, will be held at Thurman Funeral Home on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 am. Paul passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loved ones, on Monday, October 22, 2018, after a long extended illness. Paul was born in Troy, Ohio to Glenn Ryan and Mary Kathleen Moore on November 20th, 1979. Paul is survived by his daughters Rylee A. Ryan and Madison A. Ryan; step-daughter, Ali Hollensworth; mother, Kathleen Moore; brother’s, Alan Ryan and Raymond Ryan; sister, Stephanie Winterfeld (Dan), Christina Perkins (Matthew), and Veronica Aguirre (Jamie); nieces, Sarah Ryan, Bethany Perkins, Raina Ryan and Miranda Ryan; nephews, Simeon Coppola, Dylan Winterfeld, Jacob Ryan and Victor Ryan. Special friends and family include Diana Gray (Moore), Charles Moore, numerous cousins, and their families. Family will receive friends at 10:00 am on November 10, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Thurman Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
