Obituaries For Thursday, February 18

Mr. Ralph McGinley, age 74 of the Windle Community of Overton County, passed from this life from the comfort of his home on Wednesday afternoon, February 17 with his loving wife at his side. Ralph was retired from the United States Air Force and a member of the Livingston Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ralph enjoyed his church family, helping others and wanted everyone to be happy and be at peace with one another. Ralph leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Devenna Fletcher McGinley of the Windle Community; sons, Ted McGinley and wife Karen of Altus, OK, Steven Jacob Carter and wife Samantha of Lucedale, MS, and Lucas Robbins of Mountain Home Air Force Base, ID; daughters, Dawn Humphrey and husband Jeffery of Waco, TX, and Rachel Sinclair and husband Heath of Lawrenceville, GA. A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.

Mrs. Wilma Smith, age 92 of Cookeville, died Wednesday evening, February 17th at NHC Healthcare, Cookeville. Arrangements for Mrs. Smith are incomplete.

Graveside services for Mike “Dutch” Adams, age 84 0f Cookeville, will be held on Friday, February 19 at 12:00pm at the Cookeville City Cemetery. Bro. Ronald Strong will officiate. Mr. Dutch passed away on February 15 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his children, Michael Adams, Steven Adams, Beverly (Mike) Almo, and Brenda (Jerry) Hale.

Graveside Service for Doris Dale (King) Jackson, age 88 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, February 19, 2021, at 1:00 pm from the Clark’s Cemetery in Clinton, Kentucky with her family officiating. She passed from this life on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at her home. Doris was born Friday, May 20, 1932, in Hickman, Kentucky, and she was the daughter of the late Allen Dewey King and the late Nora Brittania (Crouch) King. Doris was a loving daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and friend. She was a very successful payroll manager for the company she worked for. She and her late husband Jimmy were very active in church, where they taught Sunday school and would organize nursing home visitation programs. Doris is survived by, Sister, Helen King Larder and husband Don; Step-Sister, Juanita Johnson, and husband R.B.

Funeral services for Charles Mires, 93 of Baxter will be Saturday 11 AM February 20 at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Judd Cemetery in the Bethlehem Community. Bro. Clarence DeLoach will officiate. Mr. Mires died Monday night, February 15, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born in Baxter on January 25, 1928 to the late Thomas Eddington Mires and Hattie Maxwell Mires. He was a retired dockman with Putnam Farmers Co-Op. He also worked at Johnson’s Nursery in his younger days and also at Dixie Home Furniture. He enjoyed gardening and beagle hunting. He was a member of Bussell Church of Christ. Survivors include daughters Charlene (Jeff) Allen and Paula (Jimmy) Smith. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 PM and after 9 AM Saturday.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Lynn “Chuck” Frasier, age 72 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, February 20, 2021 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Old Bon Air Cemetery. He passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. Chuck was born March 24, 1948 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late James “Jimbo” & Dorothy Mildred Demps Frasier. He was a well known and talented automobile mechanic. Chuck was an avid fisherman and dirt track racing enthusiast as well as a former racer himself. He was a good friend to many and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-7:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Benningfield will officiate. Surviving family members include his wife Becky Kirby Frasier and son Charles Lynn Frasier, Jr. Jackie Coates, Jimmy Whitaker, Adam Whitaker, Michael Massie, Tyler Mabe and Jonathan Mabe will serve the family as pallbearers.

Funeral services for Willie Helton Hickey, Sr., age 90 of Carleton, MI and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday February 20 at 11 am in Dyer Chapel. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. Willie passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 13, 2021, under the care of hospice. Born May 10, 1930 in Cookeville. He was one of four children to the late Oscar and Nettie (Harness) Hickey. In the early 1950’s he moved to the Monroe area. Willie made his living working at Ford Motor Company as a Machine Operator for 30 and a half years before retiring in 1982. He married the love of his life, Daisy L. Nelson on October 2, 1948. They had a family of six children and spent over 67 wonderful years together until Daisy’s passing in 2015. Willie was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed taking care of his family. In his free time, you could find him in the middle of the woods hunting. He and family used to go camping in their motor home He also enjoyed going out on the boat on Lake Erie to get walleye. Sadly, Willie leaves behind a son, Willie (Deborah) Hickey, Jr. of Maybee; two daughters, Deborah (Tony) Gilmer of Carleton and Alesia (Tom) Gautz of Monroe; son in law, Daniel Jackson of Baxter; eleven grandchildren; Michael Jackson, Roy Hickey, Lisa Hammond, Jeremy Hickey, John Hickey, Justin Paul, Jessyka Paul, Garrett (Journee) Gautz, Kyle (Amelia) Gautz, Jeffrey Hickey, and Matthew Hickey; eleven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by three children; an infant son, Roy Hickey, daughter, Delcia Jackson, and a son, Aaron “Wayne” Hickey; two brothers, Travis and Jay Hickey; a sister, Gerthree Hickey; two grandchildren, Troy Hickey and Kenneth Jackson; three great grandchildren, Tiegan and Taryn Romans, and Elizabeth Hickey. His family will receive friends Friday from 2 pm until 8 pm and Saturday from 9 am until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Doris Meredith Beechboard, age 76 of Cookeville, will be 2 p.m. Saturday February 20 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Adams will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Doris passed away Saturday evening February 13, 2021 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 -8 p.m. and again Saturday from 12 noon. until service time. Please practice social distancing and the use of masks are appreciated.

Graveside Service for Velma “Loudell” (Burroughs) Dilldine, 80 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, February 20 at 2:00 pm at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery with Bro. Mike Webb officiating. Mrs. Dilldine passed from this life on Saturday, February 13 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Loudell was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mom, granny to all, aunt, and friend. She worked at the Martins Shirt Factory and Universal Plastics where she retired from. Loudell was a wonderful Christian, she attended West View Baptist Church, and made sure that her faith was known. She was known for her cooking and gardening. Loudell was loved by all that knew her, she loved them, and she will be greatly missed. Loudell is survived by, 3 Children, Sherry Jean Looper and husband Danny, Jeffrey Dilldine, and Jammie Dilldine. A Private Family Visitation will be held Saturday, February 20 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral Services For Glenda Bilbrey, Age 61 Of Cookeville, Will Be Conducted On Sunday, February 21 At 2:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. David Harris And Rev. Tommy Baldwin Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Bethlehem Cemetery In Livingston. Mrs. Bilbrey Passed Away On Tuesday, February 16. She Was A Paralegal Currently Serving As Deputy Clerk At Putnam County Clerk And Master Office. She Had Previously Worked With Various Attorney Offices. She Was A Member Of Muddy Pond Independent Baptist Church. In Addition To Her Mother, Frances Fletcher Of Mayland, TN, She Is Survived By Her Husband, Roger Bilbrey Of Cookeville. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Saturday, February 20 From 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.

Memorial Service for Sally Nunley Burrows, 85 of Sparta, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Jeff Guth officiating. She passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Thursday, November 7, 1935 in Coalmont, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Matt and Nora Rogers Nunley. She was a caregiver for over 20 years. She loved being with people and spending time with her family. Survivors include son- Mike Burrows (Susan) of McMinnville, TN; Daughters- Sherry Rose (Donnie) of Sparta, TN and Jackie Burrows Miller of Sparta, TN. The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until time of the service at the funeral home.

Graveside services for Glen Smith, 75 of Silver Point, will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 23 at Palmer Cemetery located at 13820 Old Baxter Road Silver Point, 38582 with Bro. Morgan Wallace officiating. Mr. Smith passed away on Monday, February 15 at Woodcrest at Blakeford Nursing Home in Nashville. He was the loving husband of 52 blessed years, of Barbara Skelton Smith. Glen and Barbara were owners of the Glen Smith Certified Financial Planner for 50 years until recently selling the business. Glen coached little league baseball for over 30 years and Babe Ruth for the last 10 years. He enjoyed fishing for crappie and blue gill, but mostly anything that would bite the hook. Glen enjoyed all sports, but mainly he enjoyed being at the Vanderbilt football and basketball games. He was a 30 year ticketholder. His friends even called him the “Ole Commodore”. In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by one daughter, Kimberly Nicole Smith of Silver Point.

Graveside service and interment for Charles J. Threet, 78 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, February 23 at 2 PM EST at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana. There will be a private family visitation at Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Mr. Threet died Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at his home. He was born June 23, 1942 in Overton County, TN to the late Charlie and Martha Southard Threet. He was a retired truck driver with General Motors Corporation. Survivors include sisters Gladys (Jimmy) Cook of Cookeville, Agnes (Ronnie) Bohannon of Monterey.
