Johnnie “Marcella” Lemanski, 79 of Baxter, passed from this life on Monday, March 6, 2023, at her home. Marcella was born Saturday, July 10, 1943, in Silver Point, and she was the daughter of the late Johnnie William Jared and the late Olive Lee (Jernigan) Jared. Marcella was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Grammie, Mimi, and friend. She loved animals, gardening, cooking, cross-stitching, and painting. She was a devout Christian and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Marcella was loved by all that knew her and she will be greatly missed. Marcella is survived by, 2 Daughters, Sherry Gehring and her husband, Greg, and Sandra Stewart and her husband, Ed; 5 Grandchildren, Benjamin Gehring, Jared Gehring, Danielle Hammock, Edward Stewart, and Nicholas Stewart; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Kolby, Aspen, Ayla, Shyann, Mason, and Olivia; Brother-In-Law, Ed and Heidi Lemanski; A host of cousins, aunts, and special friends. In addition to her parents, Marcella was preceded in death by, Husband, Joseph Benjamin Lemanski; Mother and Father-In-Law, Benjamin and Mary Lemanski. Marcella chose cremation, the family followed her wishes, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
A Funeral service for Wilma Gearldeane “Deane” Mills, age 83 of Sparta, will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with the Clint Walker and Harlan Simmons officiating. Interment will be in Saylors Cemetery, Sparta. Deane passed from this life on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at her home. Deane was born Monday, October 2, 1939 in Sparta, she was the daughter of the late Jeff Spears and the late Clara Sherrell Spears. Deane was a member of the Pistole Baptist Church. She worked at the Circuit Court Clerks office for many years. In addition to her parents, Deane was preceded in death by her husband of more than 59 years Harold Burtis Mills, son Harold Burtis “Burt” Mills Jr. a brother Bobby Spears and a sister Treva Cunningham. Deane is survived by her: 3 daughters; Kimberley Mills of Sparta, Karen Richards and husband Randy of Cookeville. and Lorrie Mills and Cindy Mahaffey of Greeneville; 5 grandchildren; Dane Holland, Bryan Holland, Crystal and Mario Clemente, Amanda Richards and Drew and Kayla Richards; 7 great grandchildren; Izaiah Holland, Keely Holland, Judah Clemente, Marc Clemente, Stella Richardson, Lily Beckham, and Emma Beckham; special great grandchildren: Kayden Elliot and MaKayla Howard; 2 nieces; Deloris Wilkey and Connie Choate; other family members and friends also survive. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, in Sparta.
Funeral services for Jan Swearingin, 65 of Cookeville, will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. The interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Miss Swearingin passed away Thursday, March 2. Jan is survived by her mother, Betty Gentry Reed; a daughter, Beth Hunter; and a son, Tom Hunter. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
Graveside serviced for Billy Judd McCoy, age 80 of Sparta, will be held at McCoy Cemetery on Wednesday, March 8 at 1:00 PM. Mr. McCoy passed away on March 5, 2023. He was a kind, hardworking man who loved his family. He was a coin operated machine technician (a pinball wizard). Always wanted the best for everyone. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Roxann Daigle Judd (Dedah); and sons, Jacob McCoy (Kathy) Judd, Jerrold Simon (Nicole) Judd, and Billy McCoy (Sherri) Judd Jr.
Funeral services for Tim Lynn Smith, age 54 of Cookeville, will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 2:00 pm at the Life Church at 2223 Washington Avenue, Cookeville. Mr. Smith passed away March 3, 2023. Tim worked proudly in the education field during his life and served his country in the United States Navy. He was truly, a man of God during his life. He is survived by his children, Ryan and Josh Smith; and Colby Smith. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, March 7th from 3:00-9:00 pm at Whitson Funeral Home and Wednesday, March 8th at Life Church from 10:00 am until time of the service at 2:0 pm.
Funeral Services for Elinor Mary “Ellie” Galloway, age 96, of Monterey, will be conducted on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 11:00 AM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Barnett and Rev. Eddy Way will officiate with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Galloway was born on Wednesday, December 8, 1926, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Carl F. Senne Sr. and Mary Bolles Senne. Mrs. Galloway passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at NHC Healthcare in Cookeville. Mrs. Galloway was a sales clerk. She was a member of Monterey Free Will Baptist Church and attended Monterey Community Church. She loved playing the organ. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Rev. Eddy Way of Monterey; son, Daniel William Evers of New Carlisle, OH; 4 grandchildren, Mary (Danny) Holmes, Jimmy (Kim) Way, Juanita (Dustin) Allison, and Daniel William Evers Jr.; 9 great grandchildren; and 13 great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, John William Evers; husband, Ray Galloway; sister, Betty Macpherson; brother, Carl F. Senne Jr.; and great grandson, Ethan Way. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Funeral Service for Mildred Berniece (Locke) Kirby, age 103 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, March 10 at 1:00 pm from the Double Springs Church of Christ with Bro. Ronald Strong officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Kirby passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Bethesda Health Care Center. On September 19, 1938, she married John William Kirby. They resided in the Granville Community of Jackson County until approximately 1970 when they moved to Putnam County. Ms. Kirby was an employee of Heavy Duty Manufacturing Company, in Gainesboro until her retirement. She was a member of the Double Springs Church of Christ and the church ladies’ quilting group. Following the death of her husband on January 11, 1995, she resided in the Upper Cumberland Christian Homes, in Cookeville for 21 years, Due to her health conditions, she resided at Bethesda Health Care Center from March 23, 2022, until her death. She is survived by her children, Katherine “Kathy” (Bob) Boles, and James Edwin Kirby. Visitation with the family will be held Friday, March 10 from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm at Double Springs Church of Christ.

Mr. Harville was born on Saturday, June 1, 1963, in Gainesboro, to the late James and Rosell Tollett Harville. Mr. Harville passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at his home. Mr. Harville was a garage door installer. He is survived by son, Bobby Gene Harville of Algood; daughter, Harlie Blaylock of Cookeville; 2 grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Marsha Harville of Monterey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margie Martin. The family will receive friends at Weeks Cemetery on Saturday, March 11, 2023, for Graveside Celebration of Life Services.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering for Mary Dolores Graham (Manning), age 87 of Algood, will be held Saturday, March 11 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Graham passed away on Tuesday January 31. Dee grew up in Dundee, IL where she met and married Billy on Saturday October 22, 1955. They raised 4 children in Carpentersville IL. She was a very loving and devoted mother to her children. She worked for 30 years for Otto Engineering in Carpentersville IL. Upon retirement her and Billy moved to Algood, Tn. to enjoy the natural beauty and peacefulness that the hills of TN had to offer .She was very active with her book club and was well known for her home cooked meals. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Sandra) Graham, Ted (Michelle) Graham, Cynthia Rush, and Sandra (Kurt) Domianus. In Lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to St. Jude’s Children’s research hospital.

He passed away on March 1, 2023. Larry was born November 6, 1937 to Eileen Harris and Ralph Heagy Sr, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by: His wife Carol Heagy, daughter Renda (Tim) Weiler, daughter Angie (Don) Vaughn of IN, son Jeff (Kaye) Heagy of OH, son Robin (Olivia) Heagy of IN, son Doug (Angie) Heagy of IN, Melanie (Justin) Fackler. Brother Ralph (Linda) Heagy of FL, brother Duane (Patricia) Pullum of IN, sister Linda Heagy of IN, sister Yonette (Jim) Hudson of TX, daughter in law Vicki Heagy of IN, daughter in law Mary Jane Horn of IN, brother in law David Reed of WI. 13 grandkids and 18 great grandkids also many other nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. He was proceeded in death by his Grandparents: George (Roxie) Heagy and Castle (Lucille) Morris, Sister, Darlene Reed, aunts and uncles. In 1967 Larry was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Sue Nell Boles, age 69 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, March 12th from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Jeff Monday will officiate. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery. Mrs. Boles passed from this life on Saturday evening, March 4, 2023, from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cookeville on June 5, 1953, to the late Caleb and Mary Stover Arms. Sue loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, laughing and sharing her sense of humor, and going to thrift stores. She took great pride in her home and enjoyed coloring. Sue always looked forward to spending time with her family as much as she could. Sue leaves behind her daughters Kellie Hayes and husband Michael of Livingston and Billie Sue Wilson and husband Al of Cookeville; grandchildren Dylan Hayes, Suzanna Hayes, Elaynna Hayes, Ramzy Hayes, Tommy Wilson, Charlie Wilson, and Rylee Jo Wilson; brothers Jimmy Arms of Livingston and Larry Arms of Livingston; sisters Betty Meadows of Indiana and Barbara Meadows of Rickman; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband Billy Junior Boles, sister Judy Tyree, and brother Bobby Arms. The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 8 PM.
Memorial services for Joe Paul Mabrey, 43 of Cookeville, will be Thursday, March 16 at 6 PM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 640 North Washington Avenue, Cookeville. Mother T.J. Azar will officiate. Mr. Mabrey passed away Friday, March 3, 2023 at his home. He was born March 18, 1979 in Cookeville to June Edmonds Stewart of Livingston and the late Michael Earl Mabrey. He was 1997 graduate of Livingston Academy and attended Tennessee Tech University. Joe was a dispatcher with Averitt Express of Cookeville. He was a member of St. Michael’s Vestry. Joe enjoyed racing RC cars, hunting, fishing, kayaking and his Boston Terriers: Max, Lucy and Sarge. Survivors in addition to his mother include wife, Melanie Sprinkle Mabrey of Cookeville; brothers, Miles Stewart of Florida and Ethan Stewart of South Carolina; grandfather, Thomas Mabrey. The family will receive friends following the service.
