Obituaries For Monday, September 16
Funeral services for Billy G. Howell, 86 of Chattanooga and formerly of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard will follow in LaFever Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Dawanna Lopez will officiate. He went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife Ruth on Saturday, September 14, 2019. He was the son of the late Roy Howell and Stella LaFever Howell. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Ruth Howell and brother Donald Howell. Billy was a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was awarded 3 Purple Hearts. He was a retired salesman, most notably with C. Woody Pratt in Chattanooga, a distributor of Tom’s Chips and snacks. Joe Lowery, Tim Boggs, Micah Howell, Chuck Bumbalough, Zach Howell, A.J. Ball and Erin Howell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Boggs and Isaiah Howell. Memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the Wounded Warrior Project
