Mr. Terry Lamb, age 79 of Cookeville died Monday November 19, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. in Life Care Center in Sparta. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Nancy Baker age 68 of Cookeville died Sunday November 18, 2018 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Bobby G. Allen, age 68, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Life Church with Pastor Bobby Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Dodson Branch Cemetery. Mr. Allen passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 at his home in Cookeville surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 25, 1950 in Cookeville to Comer D. Allen and the late Emma Imogene Gentry Allen. Bobby was an active member of Life Church. He worked 36 years at Fleetguard before retiring as a supervisor. He was known for his cheerful spirit, giving heart, and smiling face. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and sporting events. Bobby was a friend to many and loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Imogene Allen. He is survived by his son, Benny Allen; five grandchildren, Jody (Cody) Sheppard, Kody Allen, Brody Allen, Emma Allen, and Ava Allen; two great grandchildren, Brody Allen Jr. and Cooper Allen; his father, Comer D. Allen of Gainesboro; four siblings, Brenda (Jimmie) Rhoten of Cookeville, Terry (Helga) Allen of Germany, Connie (Charles) Loving of Cookeville, and Ricky Allen of Cookeville; friend and former spouse, Brenda Allen of Cookeville, and her sons, Rod and Travis Mayberry; and several nieces and a nephew. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 19, 2018, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home and Tuesday, November 20, 2018, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Life Church prior to the Funeral Service. A service celebrating the life of Carolyn Andrews Cheek, age 77 of Sparta, will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Sparta First United Methodist Church, 23 N. Church Street, with Rev. Ken Wallace and Rev. Pam Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Carolyn Andrews Cheek, age 77, of Sparta went to her heavenly home on November 17, 2018. Carolyn was born October 16, 1941 in Memphis. She adored her husband and sweetheart of 57 years, Ernest Martin Cheek. She is the mother of three children, John Cheek (Jongee), Courtney Vaughn (David), and Julie Anderson (Mike). She dearly loved her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren who brought much joy to her life. Her grandchildren are Michael Seth Anderson (McKenzie), Caroline Holman (Todd), Rachel Cheek, Tyler Vaughn, and Will Cheek. Her great-grandchildren are Adalee Hampshire and Blaine Holman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jewel Andrews; brothers, Bill and George Andrews; and grandsons, Daniel Martin and William Jacob Vaughn. She was a 1959 graduate of White County High School. She attended the University of Tennessee and was a 1963 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University. She earned a designation of Certified Insurance Counselor in 1988. She worked with her husband at Cheek Insurance Agency from 1978 until she retired in 2015. She was an ordained priest in the Diocese of Saint Cuthbert, The Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches. She was most known for loving Jesus and everyone she met, being a prayer warrior, and hosting fabulous dinners. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday from 12:00 until time of the service. Memorials can be made to the Harold and Jewel Andrews Memorial Scholarship Fund at Martin Methodist College, 433 West Madison Street, Pulaski, Tennessee 38478.

Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Johnson, age 89 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday November 20 at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, Kentucky. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery also in Central City. She is survived by two sons, Don Johnson of Fayetteville, AR and Wayne Johnson of Cookeville. Mrs. Johnson’s family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 p.m. (noon) until service time at Tucker Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Pearl Masters, age 79 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 1 PM with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Masters age 79 of Cookeville passed away at her residence on Sunday afternoon, November 18, 2018. Mrs. Lena Pearl Masters was born on Friday, October 6, 1939 to the late Herman James Allen and Lillian Bennett Allen in Cookeville. Mrs. Masters was a school teacher. Survivors: Husband of 60 years: Dewey Glenn Masters; 2 Daughters: Robbie Byrd and husband Johnny, Lisa Poskevich and husband Dan; 1 Son: Chris Masters and wife Tara; 2 Sisters: Merle Marley and husband Jessie, Glenda Gamble; 7 Grandchildren: Jeremy Byrd, Ashley Dietz, Savannah Patel, Sydney Jackson, Riley Masters, Lily Masters, Spence Masters; 5 Great Grandchildren: Emily Dietz, Anna Claire Byrd, Liam Byrd, Isla Byrd, Ezra Dietz; A host of family and friends also survive. Preceeded in death: Parents: Herman James Allen and Lillian Bennett Allen. Family will receive friends Monday, November 19, 2018 from 5 PM to 8 PM.

Funeral services for Dr. James T. Wall, 85, of Cookeville will be Tuesday, November 20 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Martin Thielen and Rev. Rob Wheeler officiating. Dr. Wall died suddenly Saturday, November 17, at his home. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Algood City Cemetery. Dr. Wall was born Sunday September 10, 1933 in Putnam County to the late Wilkes Hammock and Neta Ozenia Williams Wall, Sr. He attended the Cookeville City School and Cookeville Central High School, where he played football, basketball and American Legion baseball. He was the sports editor of both the newspaper and the annual, and a member of the Beta Club. In 1951, Dr. Wall enrolled at Tennessee Tech where he was a member of the track, swimming, boxing and tennis teams. He was the editor of The Oracle, and sports editor of The Eagle. He graduated from Tech in 1955 with a B.S. degree in social science and was commissioned through the R.O.T.C. program as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. After leaving Senator Kefauver’s staff, he worked for the Department of State, serving in South America for four years, and received a Master’s Degree from the University of Chile. In 1965, he resumed his doctoral studies at George Washington University. He later transferred to the University of Tennessee and received his Ph.D in Latin American history in 1974. Dr. Wall taught a variety of courses, including Latin American history, American history, and American military history at several colleges including Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), Georgetown University, Edinburgh University in Scotland, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the National University in Cost Rica. In 2004, Dr. Wall was named Faculty of the Year at NOVA and was awarded the title of Emeritus Professor upon his retirement. Dr. Wall was the author of five books and dozens of articles published in academic journals. Dr. Wall continued his service in the U.S. Army Active Reserve. He achieved the rank of full colonel in the Civil Affairs branch of the U.S. Army and served as Civilian Aide for the State of Virginia under Secretary of the Army, Clifford Alexander during the Carter Administration. In 1990, Dr. Wall was honored with induction into the Tennessee Tech R.O.T.C. Hall of Fame. Dr. Wall was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, where he sang in choirs, led Sunday School classes and was a designated lay speaker. For many years, Dr. Wall participated in the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission in North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States. He was a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, the Reserve Officers Association, the Fulbright Association, and the President’s Club at Tennessee Tech. In his career, Dr. Wall lived in seven countries on three continents, and he was in 60 countries in all. He is survived by a brother, John Wall and his long-time friend, Dora Yates of Algood; two sisters, Anita Moore of Memphis and Lula Bartholomew of Oak Ridge; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wilkes Hammock Wall, Jr. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 am until service time at Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Mrs. Clarcie Bush, age 97 of Cookeville will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Buddy Johnson is officiating. Mrs. Bush died Sunday November 18, 2018 at 8:28 a.m. in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Irene West, age 71, of Smithville and formerly of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday November 21 at New Beginnings Fellowship Church. Interment will follow in the West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community of Putnam County. Her family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5 – 7 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home and again Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the church. Mrs. West passed away Saturday evening November 17, 2018 at St Thomas Dekalb Hospital in Smithville, TN. She was born July 31, 1947 in Hinton, OK to the late Earl and Fay McGar Taylor. Mrs. West was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church. She was retired from Russell Stover Candies in Cookeville, and served as the former president of the employee union. She is survived by two sons, Teral (Tammy) West of Smithville, Kenneth (Holly) West of Cookeville; five grandchildren, Chelsea, Jordan, Tanner, and Gavin West, and Savannah (Jonathon) Warren.

Graveside services for Ruth Haston, age 64, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, 12 noon at Spencer Town Cemetery, Spencer, Tennessee. Interment will follow in Spencer Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM and at Presley Funeral Home. Ruth passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born Friday, January 1, 1954 in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Charles Verble Haston and Thelma Lee Hodges Haston. Ruth was a Certified Nurse’s Aid. She loved to trail ride on her Mule. She loved to country line dance. She loved dogs, especially her beloved dog, Pooh.

Funeral services for Mrs. Loami T. Hawkins Morgan, age 95 of Hilham, will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 1 PM at the Standing Stone Praise and Worship Center with burial to follow in the Old Union Cemetery. Mrs. Morgan passed away at Centennial Medical Center on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Mrs. Morgan was born in Hilham on Monday, June 18, 1923 to the late Roscoe R. Lawson and Fannie B. Crowder Lawson. Survivors: 2 Daughters: Pam Garthwait, Becky Bull and husband Donnie; 3 Sons: Willie Hawkins and wife Kathy, Mike Hawkins and wife Tammy, Johnny Hawkins and wife Jay; 25 Grandchildren; 49 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great Great Grandchildren; A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive. Preceeded in death: In addition to her parents; 2 Husbands: Waymon Hawkins, Vestal Morgan; 2 Daughters: Angela Hawkins, Barbara Barlow; 1 Son: Waymon Hawkins Jr. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 4 PM to 8 PM and on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 9 AM to 1 PM at the church.

Funeral services for James E. Maddox, age 95, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, November 24th, 2018 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 23, 2018, 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM and Saturday, November 24, 2018, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home. James E. Maddox passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018.
