Obituaries For Friday, December 27

Mr. Robert ‘Bob’ Fowler, age 91 of Cookeville, died Friday morning, December 27th at Bailey Manor, Cookeville. Arrangements for Mr. Fowler are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Aline Fisher Johnson, age 80 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, December 28, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. She passed away Christmas Day at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Shirley was born March 18, 1939 in Walling, Tennessee to the late John & Venia Thelma Sparkman Fisher. She retired from Thomas Industries after 41 years of service. She loved going to yard sales and was a huge fan of the University of Tennessee athletics and Elvis Presley. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by brothers Hoyte Fisher, I.T. Fisher and Eldridge Fisher; sisters Betty Joe Fisher, Katie Fisher Hawkins and Edna Fisher Glen. Surviving family members include her husband of 50 years, in a relationship that all started with a wink at a traffic light in Sparta, Don M. Johnson The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Goff will officiate.

Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Lee Woodward, age 62, of Allons will be conducted 12 noon, Saturday, December 28, 2019 from the First Christian Church in Livingston. Bro. Steven Barlow and Buckie Parsons will officiate. Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Livingston, then on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Mr. Charlie Lee Woodward passed from this Life on Christmas Day, at his residence. He was born in Macon County Tennessee to the late Jack & Margaret Sue Livingston Woodward. Charlie was a 1975 graduate of Livingston Academy, and an Elder of the Monroe Christian Church. Charlie started working for the City of Livingston for the Fire Department, then moving his way into the Water Department, where he became a level 4 water operator, retiring with 40 years of service to the City of Livingston. Charlie enjoyed motorcycles since he was a young boy. He still had his dad’s 1967 Shovelhead Harley-Davidson, a 2006 Electro-glide, and in 2018 Tammie and he went to Maggie Valley and purchased 3 tickets for a 1936 Knucklehead EL Harley and won a few months later. Charlie had many wonderful friends, his call sign was Cedar Knoll, and was a gentle soul to everyone. He was a member of the National Wildlife Turkey Federation NWTF. Charlie also loved his wife Tammie and enjoyed taking her to many places across the country. Charlie leaves behind his wife, Tammie Parris Parsons Woodward of Allons, TN; daughter, Jodi Deck of Monroe, TN; son, Chad Hicks, Jr. of Monroe, TN; grandchildren, Anthony Chad Hicks, Jr., Bella Parsons, and Gemma Deck; father & mother-in-law, Marshall & Natalie Parris of Monroe, TN; aunt, Martha McCormick & husband Gerald of Goodlettsville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Philip Hoyle Wilkerson, 58 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed from this life Monday, December 23, 2019 at his home in Cookeville. He was born Wednesday, June 21, 1961 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the son of Bobbye (Carr) Wilkerson and the late Hoyal Wilkerson. Philip was a loving Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, and Friend to all who knew him. He retired from UPS in Putnam County, and he loved farming, golfing, collecting cars, and traveling with his beloved Debbie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, December 28 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm.

She Was Born June 21, 1941, In Mayland, To The Late Joseph And Bessie (Hamm) Hotsinpiller. Mrs. Buckner Passed Away On Thursday, December 19, 2019, At The Age Of 78. She Worked For Anderson Community Schools For Over 28 Years As A Baker. She Loved Cooking And Spending Time With Her Family. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of 63 Years, MC Buckner; 4 children, Debbie (Husband, David) Hatt, Darla (Husband, Jim) Cope, Terry (Wife, Debbie) Buckner, And Tim (Wife, Monica) Buckner; Grandchildren, Brenda, Eddie, Ryan, Michael, Brandon, Joey, Ashley, Taylor, Payton, And Nolan; 10 Great Grandchildren; And Several Nieces And Nephews. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Saturday, December 28, 2019, From 12:00 PM Until 1:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Bobbie Jean (Cope) Davis, age 87 of Sparta, will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in the chapel of Thurman Funeral home. Officiating is Internment at Plainview Cemetery in Cassville. She departed from this life in the evening of Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the age of 87 with loved ones by her side. A native to Sparta. Jean met the love of her life, Frank, and together they raised one beloved son, Carl, with the strong ethics that have shaped the entire family since. Picking up the names “Granny” and “Ole G” as grandchildren and a great-grandchild blessed her life she always made sure to live up to the legend, her house being filled with the best treats and most wonderous adventures leaving stories to tell of it of for years to come. Aside from her family she enjoyed watching L.A. Lakers Basketball and singing with her sister Nina at Liberty Baptist where she was a proud member for many years. Bobbie Jean Davis proceeded in death by her parents Ermin “Cowboy” Cope and Essie Shaw Cope, Brother William Roy “Royce” Cope, Husband Frank Lee Davis, and only child Carl S. Davis. She is survived by siblings Ernestine Slatton, Nina Griffin, Ruth Anderson (Leslie), Brenda Frasier, Glenn Cope(Gail),daughter in law, Kathy Davis, Grandson, Lanny Davis (Levona), Granddaughter, Clarissa Kirby (Johnny), Great Granddaughter Miranda Randolph (Tristin), and many other family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, October 18, 2019, from 10 – 2 p.m. at Thurman Funeral Home. Thurman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

She Was A Member Of The Refuge Church In Livingston, Tennessee. She Is Survived By Her Son And Daughter-In-Law, Tim And Vicki White Of Rickman, TN; 2 Granddaughters, Melissa and Justin Coffman Of Hilham, TN, Ashley And Nathan Hillis Of Livingston, TN; 7 Great Grandchildren, Lelia, Cole, Anna, Callie, Korbin, Jase, Ayvee Mae; 2 Brothers, Clifford And Sara Phipps Of Algood, TN, Danny And Janice Phipps Of Monterey, TN. Funeral Services for Siegfried “Sigi” Stein, 82, of Madison, TN, will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Allen officiating. He passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at NHC of Smithville. He was born June 22, 1937 in Allenstein, Poland to the late Hermann and Gerta Neumann Stein. Mr. Stein served in the United States Army and was an Architectural Engineer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; Wife: Brenda Wallace Stein. Survivors include; Sister-in-laws- Linda Sevier of Madison and Debra Prater (Mike) of Jefferson City; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors also survive.The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 6-8 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Dimple Lee Haney, age 95 of Nashville, TN and formerly of Putnam County, TN, will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at 2:00PM from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Norton officiating. Burial will follow at Algood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 4:00-7:00PM and Sunday 12:00Noon till time of the service at 2:00PM. Mrs. Haney passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at her residence in Nashville, Tennessee. Dimple Lee Haney was born on January 18, 1924 in Putnam County, TN to the late Holford and Mary Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Chester William Haney; 4 Brothers: James D. Jones, Johnny Jones, Clinton Jones, and Larmon M. Jones; 3 Sisters: Martha Caruthers, Myrtle Pakula, & Bertha Davis.

Anita A. Asher passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at NHC HealthCare in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was born Tuesday, August 11, 1942 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late William Leslie Johnson Sr. and Frances Sharp Johnson.

Funeral services for James S. Dunn, age 88, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Presley Funeral Home with John Pippin officiating. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at NHC HealthCare in Cookeville. He was born Monday, September 14, 1931 in Cookeville, to the late George Roscoe Dunn and Amanda Sliger Dunn. James retired from Chrysler in Detroit, Michigan after 30 years. He attended Baxter Church of Christ until he was unable to attend due to his health. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Sue Wolfe Dunn; 2 brothers, Odre Dunn and Jessie Dunn; 2 sisters, Ina Randolph and Elise Peek. He is survived by 2 sisters, Vivian Bowman and Lillian Smith, both of Cookeville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon at Presley Funeral Home.
