Obituaries For Friday, December 13

Douglas Hazelton II, 63, of Sparta, TN passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019. Douglas was born on February 01, 1956 in Albany, New York to the late Douglas Hazelton Sr. and Phyllis Lavern Brown Hazelton. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mr. Darrell Lynn Gantt, age 65 of Doyle, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, December 14, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery. Darrell passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Alive Hospice Murfreesboro. Darrell was born January 11, 1954 in Cookeville to Aline Dunn Gantt and the late Ronald Lynn Gantt. He was a longtime employee of Mallory and after its closure he worked at Tri-State Distribution. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Joyce Yates Gantt of Doyle; Two daughters: Jill Gantt Dean of LaFayette, Brandee Gantt Gifford and husband Jamey of Belvidere; Grandchildren: Trenton Dean, Alexis Dean and Christopher Leach; Mother: Aline Gantt of Baxter; Two sisters: Tereasa Herron and Chris Burton both of Baxter; Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Bro. Hatton Allen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Hunter Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Graveside services for Mrs. Linda Perrin, 79, of Gainesboro, will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. She passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019, at Mabry Health Care Center in Gainesboro. She was born September 16, 1940, in Jackson County, to the late Stanton Hall and Ruby Hall. She was married to Jackie Perrin, who survives. She was a garment factory worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Son: Rodney Perrin; 1 Brother: Gene Hall; and 1 Sister: Georgia Jackson. Survivors include her Husband: Jackie Perrin of Gainesboro; 1 Son: Richard (Joy) Perrin of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Cherie Lynn Craighead of Cookeville; 5 Grandchildren; and 8 Great Grandchildren. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home.

The Funeral Service for Alfred Jeran Gribble, age 31 of Sparta, will be Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 1pm, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta with Bro. Glen Leftwich officiating, with burial to follow at Doyle Cemetery. On Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 8:18 am in the Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD. Alfred’s journey on earth ended. He was born August 14, 1988 in Augusta, Georgia. He attended the Georgia School System until 1998, when he moved to Sparta. He graduated White County High School. He went on to study Spanish, French, and international business at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He studied at University De Guanajuato in Mexico. He later went to Japan for a year and a half where he taught English at Riverdale School. At the time of his passing, he was studying Pathology, MA at the George Washington University, where he would have graduated in May 2020 with his master’s to become a certified speech therapist. He was preceded in death by his Grandmothers- Viola Carrick Gribble and Josie Belle Roberts, Grandfathers- Hollis Gribble Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory Mother- Brenda Roberts of Newton, Ga; Father- Loyd Gribble of Sparta; Grandfather- Arthur Roberts Jr. of Newton, GA; Three Brothers- Trey (Melinda) King of Cookeville, Gregory Brown Jr. of Atlanta, Ga, and Adariees Crawford of Newton, GA; One Sister- Dynasti Crawford of Newton, GA; Three Uncles- Johnny (Susie) Gribble of Sparta, Mark (Dedra) Gribble of Sparta, Vincent Roberts of Newton, GA; Three Aunts- Sherly and Vivian Roberts of Newton, GA, and a very special and loving Aunt Susie Gribble of Sparta; His beloved Cousin and best friend- Kenda Gribble Roberts (Zach); His childhood friend and cousin- Ramone Roberts. He was blessed by two very special friends- Tasha Fernanden and Brittany Bowman. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 11 am – 1 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for James R. Emerton, 75, of Gainesboro, will be held at 1 P.M. on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Rob Draper Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community of Jackson County. He passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at his residence. He was born May 16, 1944, in Jackson County, to the late Gurstle Emerton and Zelma Emerton. On July 27, 2006, he was married to Marsha Meadows Emerton, who survives. He was a retired TDOT supervisor, and a member of the Flynns Creek Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Roger Emerton; and 1 Sister: Ruth Smith. Survivors include his Wife: Marsha Meadows Emerton of Gainesboro; 2 Sons: Tim (Susan) Emerton of Whitleyville, and Jason (Kelly) Emerton of Gainesboro; 3 Daughters: Kim (Mike) Lyon of Litchfield Park, AZ, Jessica Emerton of Gainesboro, and Ruby Randolph of Gainesboro; 2 Grandchildren: Zach (Kayla) Emerton of Lafayette, and Peyton Emerton of Gainesboro; 1 Great Grandchild: Jaxon Emerton; 1 Brother: John Emerton of Cookeville; 2 Sisters: Sally Stafford and Elizabeth Long, both of Smyrna; and 1 Sister in Law: Pam (Danny) Hammons of Celina. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mr. Donald Allen Randolph, age 74 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Sunday, December 15, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in New Bon Air Cemetery. He passed away Thursday morning, December 12, 2019 at Signature Health in Algood. Donald was born February 3, 1945 in Crossville. He had a career in timber. He loved to spread the gospel as an evangelist, serving anywhere in Middle Tennessee that needed him. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed playing guitar, working his garden and caring for his animals. He is preceded in death by his father James Randolph; mother Ruby Bumbalough Randolph Conley; sister Louise Randolph; brother Bobby Conley; step-son David Anderson. Survivors include his wife of 39 years Beulah Prater Randolph; Step-children: Carolyn Ward, Patricia Grossarth and Kathy Maggas; Grandchildren: Kimra Light, David Anderson, Jr., Sarah Grossarth, Justin Grossarth, Jessica Grossarth and Jennifer Frazier; Several great and great-great-grandchildren; Brothers: Kenneth Randolph, Glen Conley and Jerry Conley; Sisters: Cathy Young and Wilma Presley; A host of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral Service for Angelyn “Angie” (Stewart) Bilbrey, 78 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, December 15, 2019, at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bros. Jeremiah Tatum, Clarence Deloach, and Mike Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She passed from this life on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Signature Health Care of Putnam County in Cookeville. Angie was born February 10, 1941, in Bristol, Virginia to the late Herbert A. and Reba Nell (Angel) Stewart. Angie was a loving wife and mother. She graduated from White County High School and received her Early Childhood Education degree from MTSU. She enjoyed her career in Early Childhood Education and later enjoyed being a bank teller. Angie was a lifelong member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ and taught many bible classes, and volunteered her time over the years. Angie is survived by, Husband, Bill Bilbrey, and Son, Eddie and Lisa Bilbrey. In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by, Stepmom, Edith Stewart. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Happy Haven or the Willow Meals Progam at Willow Avenue Church of Christ.
