The Warren County High School Select Choir- one of 28 musical groups from across the nation performing at Disney World this week.
Vocal Music Teacher Kennette Dixon said that Festival Disney is a youth music program that brings groups in to perform, compete, and get comments from music professionals.
“They loved it, I mean it’s Disney,” “But also being able to sing in that venue and getting able to work with the judges afterward was an experience for them. He was just great with the kids and they loved it. They had a blast.”
Dixon said that they decided to participate in this program after missing out on other chances to perform at Disney because of COVID. She said that next year they plan on competing as well.
Dixon said that students performed “Fly Away Home” by Pinkzebra, “I Will Sing You The Stars” by Mark Burrows and “Glorious” by David Archuleta.
“‘Fly Away Home’ we had done last spring and it was just one that had really stuck with the kids,” Dixon said. “So I chose it because of their response to it. And then I selected the others because I thought they went well with that one piece, and the kids really responded well from all three.”
