The man killed in a Monterey shooting on Saturday has been identified as 59 year-old Jimmy Doc Gibson.
Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris said the department and Monterey PD responded to a shots fired call at 2730 Old Walton Road, at roughly 2:30 PM on February 20.
The shooting incident occurred at a county owned waste management facility. Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrived on the scene shortly after the shooting and began working the crime scene as a homicide.
A person of interest has been questioned regarding the shooting incident. The Tennessee Highway Patrol Critical Incident Response Team is assisting with mapping the crime scene
