A Thursday night crash in Cookeville knocked out power to residents in the West Jackson Street area and landed a man behind bars for multiple offenses.
Cookeville Police have charged Michael Wayne Vanhoosier II with reckless endangerment and DUI. Officials said Vanhoosier crashed a vehicle around 9:45 p.m. at Maxwell Street and West Jackson Street.
The accident has forced the city of Cookeville to close the roadway as crews work to restore power and make necessary repairs.
“We do not know how much longer traffic will be affected at this point,” Lieutenant Darrin Stout said.
Vanhoosier was also served an outstanding warrant during his Thursday night arrest.
