Van Buren County students will return to school on a traditional Monday through Friday schedule.
School Director Cheryl Cole said a virtual instruction program is available for any family not comfortable sending their children to school.
“We will have trainings for families that first week of school to help parents understand what all their student needs to be doing, and things like that,” Cole said. “It won’t be the same as what we offered in the spring when we had the shut down unexpectedly. We’ve had time to plan for this.”
Cole said temperature checks and social distancing, when practical, will be part of the school reopening plan. She said students and teachers will be encouraged to wear masks.
Students enrolled in the virtual instruction program will still be accountable for attendance and classwork. Cole said parents interested in the program will have to fill out an application.
New students are required to attend registration day August 5. The first day of school is August 7.
