Van Buren Co. Community Yard Sale

Van Buren County is hosting a community yard sale at the Van Buren Co. Farmer’s Market on Saturday, May 1st.

Burritt Memorial Library director Amy Carter said the funds will benefit both the vendor and the library.

“The money that’s paid for reserving for their booth will go to the library and they’ll keep the money from the sales. What the library earns from this event will more than likely go to the Summer Readings, which are coming up in June,” said Carter.

Carter said the best part about the fundraiser is that it will help get kids reading more.

“I’m excited because it’s for the kids in our community. The more money we raise, the bigger our summer reading program can be so that’s exciting to me.” said Carter.

Carter said there are still spots available for the yard sale, and that community members can also help by getting involved with the library.

“Just coming in as often and taking advantage of what we offer here. Almost everything with the library is free to borrow and bring back. I hope that our summer reading program will be a success and people can bring their kids and enjoy that,” said Carter.

You can sign up for a $10 booth either in person or by emailing the library.
