Upper Cumberland Electric Redesigns Website, Gears Up For New Outage Tool

Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation (UCEMC) has redesigned its website.

General Manager Jimmy Gregory said the new design will be more user friendly for customers.

Upper Cumberland Electric has redesigned its website to be more modern and user friendly for customers. An interactive outage map will be added to the website in the near future.

“We wanted a more modern look and we wanted to have more internal control over our own website,” Gregory said. “It was hard to change things on the old website, so we wanted it designed so our PR staff could make changes without going through a third party.”

Gregory said customers will soon notice a change to how the utility updates outage information on the website.

“In the very near future we will have an outage management system that we are implementing,” Gregory said. “That will share information to our website and automatically populate those outages.”

Within the next two months the mobile-friendly website will feature a map showing smartphone users specific outage locations. Gregory said the new feature should cut down the number of calls UCEMC receives during power outages.

“We’re excited that our website has become a more modern tool,” Gregory said. “Hopefully our member will enjoy it and get some needed benefit from it.”

UCEMC has employed the most current tools to provide up-to-the-minute account news and information to the website. Online bill pay will still be available UCEMC members.
