Unloaded Gun Found in Cumberland Co. Student’s Vehicle

An unloaded handgun was found in a Cumberland County High School student’s vehicle Friday.

Director of Schools Janet Graham reports school administrators were conducting a search of the student’s vehicle at the time the gun was discovered.

The administrators were reportedly looking for items unrelated to the gun.

Graham says no threats were made to any of the school’s students or employees, nor were any of them harmed.

This is the second time in as many weeks a student in Cumberland County has brought a firearm onto school property. A sixth-grade Pleasant Hill Elementary student was arrested after they also brought an unloaded handgun to school.
