UC Youth Football Heading To Nissan Stadium

Two youth football programs are heading to Nissan Stadium this September, Monterey Youth Football and Overton County Outlaws will battle September 29.

While the Titans are in Miami preparing for Monday Night Football, the home field will play host to youth football. Overton County Outlaws President Michael Hayes said the experience will be unforgettable.

“It’s going to be big, it’s going to leave a big impact of them,” Hayes said. “This is going to be something they talk about for the rest of their lives. Just being able to step out on the field and play where some big name professional football players has played. Just the whole atmosphere is going to be awesome for them.”

Hayes said this is the first opportunity the Outlaws have had to do something like this. The event is being put on by Playbook Sports, a New Jersey based sports organization that reached out to Monterey Youth Football and Overton County Outlaws.

“So, the parents are super excited. Just for their kid to be able to have the opportunity to play on the field,” Hayes said. “The kids, they’re enthused about going. We told them and they opened their eyes real big and are very excited.”

Along with the football, the Overton County cheerleading team has joined forces with the Monterey cheer squad to create routines to preform during halftime of the games.

Hayes said events like this are ways to get kids involved in football and sees this as an opportunity of growth.

“We got about 100 kids come out and play this year. So, our numbers are growing each year,” Hayes said. “Doing things like this, going to the Titans stadium to play, you know, last year the senior bunch went to Pensacola Beach and played and it just brings kids out.”
