The Upper Cumberland Tourism Association creating a new challenge to encourage people to visit local coffee shops across the Upper Cumberland.
Executive Director Patti Purdy along with Travel Influencer Kristi Parsons have tried more than 12 shops over the past three days. Purdy said the end product will be a coffee trail card so you can track your own progress.
“We needed to have something that warms their heart, their minds and body so they can go out and explore,” Purdy said. “That’s when we were like ‘Coffee.’ Everybody has coffee shops and we have one in every county, so it kind of just fell organically together.”
Purdy said for each location visited, the shop will stamp your card. Once you collect all 12 shops, Purdy said you will receive a gift from the tourism association. Purdy said the physical cards should be available by the end of the month.
Purdy said the idea is to encourage people to tour the Upper Cumberland during the slow winter retail season.
