Local Authorities are looking for 18 year old Megan Hendrixson after she fled the CHANCE group home for girls.
Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris said deputies took the missing person report from the group home on September 20. Farris said that while Hendrixson is 18, she was placed in state custody out of White County until she turns 19.
“Anybody coming in contact with her or if she gets stopped or identified or had any interactions anywhere,” Farris said. “Then obviously we would like local law enforcement to be called. So we can be come and make sure the Department of Children Services gets her back in custody.”
Hendrixson is described as being white with red hair and brown eyes. Hendrixson is listed at 5’4″ and 154 pounds.
The CHANCE group home is located in Bloomington Springs.
“DCS is sort of in charge of that group and those individuals out there,” Farris said. “So we certainly work with DCS in these types of instances. So she has since then had some juvenile petitions out from the DCS investigator. That has been taken out from White County because that’s where her charges stem from, from the very beginning. So they are on file but obviously we have a copy of that, we know that and DCS has placed that in their system as well.”
Farris said to contact your local law enforcement if she is seen in Putnam, White, DeKalb or Warren County. Farris said that people fleeing from group homes happens frequently.
