An accident involving multiple tractor trailers near exit 299 on I-40 resulted in two injuries and one charge of failing to exercise due care Thursday.
Tennessee Highway Patrol reports 70-year-old Bobby Gene Williams was traveling east and collided with a cable barrier. As a result, the barrier entered the west bound lane and struck another tractor trailer.
The second vehicle lost control with its cargo hitting a third tractor trailer. The third truck made impact with a guard rail and stopped in an embankment. The vehicle Williams was driving continued after impact and flipped into the west bound lane.
Williams was charged and injured. His passenger was also hurt. The accident resulted in traffic delays through out Thursday morning.
