The Algood City Council swore Luke Hill and Roger Williams into service as councilmen Monday night.
Both councilmen were sworn in by Judge Wesley Bray. Williams is a new council member while Hill was already been serving on the council as Vice Mayor.
Hill was then re-appointed by the council to continue serving his current term as Vice Mayor.
The city council also honored former Councilmember Ron Graves for his service. Algood Mayor Lisa Chapman-Fowler said Graves was involved with many worthwhile accomplishments including equipment and software upgrades for city services, Algood Park phase one, and the Parks and Recreation Department.
Graves will receive a physical copy of the resolution in a public ceremony.
In other business, Algood Fire Chief David Judd said the Fire Department added three new firefighters.
Public Works Director Walt Bradshaw said the Public Works Department is currently building a salt shed. Bradshaw said the department has taken the bushes down at the Algood Post Office in order to replace them with a fence.
