COVID exposure inside Algood’s City Hall and rising cases in Putnam County forced the city hall lobby to close Tuesday. Algood’s 20-year-old wooden welcome signs will have to remain for now. City officials received one $82,000 bid for a new welcome sign, which city council declined.
