Twin Lakes Hold Grand Opening For New Byrdstown Facility

Twin Lakes celebrating the grand opening of its new Byrdstown facility.

Mayor Sam Gibson called it a great day for Byrdstown and a great day for Twin Lakes. He said the people of Byrdstown have appreciated Twin Lakes’ service for years and are excited to see them moving into an improved facility.

“It’ll just make the people appreciate more what Twin Lakes does for us because now, whenever they got to pay their bills or go to sign up for new things, they’ve got a super nice office to go into and a nice facility,” Gibson said.

Gibson said the building is across from the Pickett County Post Office and just the latest in a string of new businesses that have moved onto Byrdstown’s Main Street.

“It’s also a great asset to Byrdstown because they’ve got a really nice facility there that’s really impressive-looking whenever you’re driving into town,” Gibson said. “So, they’ve always been here and they’ve always been very supportive of Byrdstown, even before building the new building.”

He said the facility could likely have been opened earlier, but the Twin Lakes Board of Directors wanted everything complete before opening, down to the landscaping. He said Twin Lakes has had an office in Byrdstown for years, but it was a rented space in a smaller, older building. He said the new space is owned and offers an aesthetic improvement to the formerly vacant Main Street building.

“With all of these additions here and everything really improved, practically new facilities, it really improves the aesthetic of Byrdstown and Pickett County,” Gibson said. “And it improves it tremendously.”

Gibson said Friday’s opening celebration included numerous Twin Lakes staffers, Byrdstown and Pickett County elected officials, and a huge community turnout.
