Truck Driver Dead After Overturning On I-40 In Putnam

An I-40 accident turned fatal after Freightliner overturned near mile marker 287.

At 12:14 PM Tuesday the Frieghtliner truck was travelling East in the left lane when it drove off of the roadway and had to over correct. This caused the truck to enter the road at an angle and overturn, sliding into the guardrail.

The Freightliner truck finally stopped off of the right shoulder of I-40. The truck driver who died from overturning was 53 year-old Richard Powell Jr from Baltimore, Maryland.
