Tommy Dodson HWY Bridge In Overton Closed For Repairs

A bridge on Tommy Dodson Highway in Overton County expected to be closed until mid-November for improvements.

TDOT Community Relations Officer Rae-Anne Bradley said the bridge over Danner Branch will have portions of the deck replaced and be repaved.

‘Traffic is being detoured via State Route 111,” Bradley said. “Drivers that are using State Route 293 should be cautious of workers near the work zone and plan ahead for a longer commute while this detour is on place.”

Bradley said the project is needed due to aging infrastructure. Bradley said the some $483,000 project includes 500 feet of paving of the highway. Bradley said new guardrails will also be installed.
