TN Arts Grant Brings Live Music To Red Boiling Springs Saturday

Palace Park in Red Boiling Springs will host a free concert featuring all local singers and song writers.

Vision 2020 Inc. Coordinator Karen Davis said the Tennessee Arts Commission offered them a non-matching grant to put on an outdoor event. Davis said it is a blessing to be completely financed and asked to just bring music to the public.

“We chose to feature our songwriters because that’s what we do with our regular Pump Cafe shows,” Davis said. “We have a lot of local songwriters and we like them to perform their own music and so we decided to highlight four of our young song writers in an outdoor park setting.”

Davis said at 6:30 PM on Saturday the public can expect an all original, all acoustic show. She said there should be a little something for everyone when it comes to Saturday night’s lineup.

“The four songwriters that we’re featuring are Jessie Clement, Tyler Wix, Clay West and Kade Allen,” Davis said. “Some of them have a little country flavor to them but I would say most of them are more like Americana, folk kind of music.”

Davis said it is positive to be able to bring back some sense of normalcy to the community with a live event. However, she said they do ask people to try and keep this event safe for everyone.

“We think the community is ready to get out a little bit, plus we will encourage people to keep wearing their mask,” Davis said. “And try not to get up on top of each other and those sorts of things but they can still come out and bring their lawn chairs and setup across the park and enjoy this music and be able to waive at neighbors.”

This event is free and attendees will need to bring their own refreshments to Palace Park Saturday. However, Davis asked for people to not bring alcohol into the event.
