This Week White Co Commission Considers Landfill Fee Increases

This week in the Upper Cumberland the Putnam County Commission will consider selling a parcel of land Monday night.

Commissioners will consider the highest bidder of $85,000 for the Old Bridge Property. A grant application for firefighting and training equipment will also be discussed. The county could be eligible for some $34,000.

The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m.

The White County Commission will consider increasing its tipping fees at its landfill Monday. The resolution includes a $10 increase from $51.25 to $61.25. It comes recommended from the solid waste committee. If approved, the increase would go into effect in February.

Commissioners will also consider increasing fees for roll-off and front-end garbage containers. Business starts at 6:00 p.m.

The Cumberland County Commission will appoint its members to the Cumberland Plateau Water Authority. The body will consist of Crossville officials, utility districts and county officials. The goal is to create a water source for the future by merging together.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. Monday.

The Pickett County Commission meets at 6:00 p.m. Monday. The Fentress County Commission meets as well at the same time and day.
