This week the Putnam County Commission will ratify County Mayor Randy Porter’s appointment of a new fire chief for the county.
Fire Chief Tom Brown is retiring from the role after over 25 years with the department and 37 years in fire service. The board will also consider the approval of the new interlocal agreement with the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport. The meeting begins at 6:00pm on Monday.
The White County Commission will discuss the appointment of new board members for the senior center. The start time of the meeting is 6:00pm on Monday.
Also Monday at 6:00pm, the Pickett County Commission meets. They will consider approval of two proposals from the tourism committee, an occupancy tax and multiple fishing tournaments that are expected to bring tourists to the area this spring.
The Jackson County Board of Education will consider the emergency purchase of a seventy-eight passenger bus. The meeting takes place on Monday at 6:00pm.
Cumberland County Commission meets Monday night. They will discuss the idea of petitioning the state of Tennessee to rename the Scott Creek Bridge on Highway 127 in memory of David “Dave” Warren Garrett. Meeting time 6pm.
The Fentress County Commission will consider the acceptance of two new grants, one for firefighters and the other for rural development. The meeting will occur at 6:00pm on Monday.
At 6:30pm on Monday the Warren County Commission meets. They will discuss the line items needed for their Three Star Grant and funds to purchase a new sign for the Three Star Mall.
The Putnam County Election Commission meets at 8:30am on Tuesday. Tuesday, Celina Aldermen meet. The Van Buren County Commission meets Tuesday night.
The Van Buren County Board of Education will recognize the retiring of Director of Schools Cheryl Cope. The meeting takes place at 5:30pm on Wednesday.
The executive boards of the UCDD and UCHRA will meet on Thursday at 9:00am. They will discuss the audits related to the two organizations, as well as those for the Cumberland Area Investment Corporation and Cumberland Regional Development Corporation.
Thursday at 10:00am the UCDD, UCHRA, and CAIC Board of Directors annual meeting will be held. The meeting will contain a report on the UCDD and UCHRA’s 2023 fiscal year from Executive Director Mark Farley and a keynote address from Chairman Randy Heady.
The Sparta aldermen meet on Thursday at 5:00pm.
Thursday at 5:30pm the Cookeville City Council meets.
