This Week Overton Considers Budget, Putnam Hears ARP Report

This week in the Upper Cumberland the Overton County Commission will vote on its new fiscal year budget Monday.

Before the commission meeting begins, a 4:00 p.m. budget committee meeting will take place. Following that, residents will have an opportunity to provide feedback on the budget at 4:30 p.m.

At 5:00 p.m., business will begin with consideration of the county’s budget as well as several bids for items such as body cams and mini pumper trucks.

The Cookeville Planning Commission will gather at 5:30 p.m. to discuss residential developments in the city Monday.

The Putnam County Commission will consider a joint property purchase with the city of Cookeville Monday. A parcel on Lee Seminary Road known as the Vernon Wilson property that joins the Highlands Industrial Park.

Commissioners will also hear a report on ARP spending by Mayor Randy Porter. The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. Following the commission meeting, the budget committee will continue work for the new fiscal year

The Jackson County Commission will meet Monday at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, the Van Buren County School Board will meet. Business begins at 5:30.

The Fentress County Commission will make year-end adjustments for the current fiscal year Wednesday. Commissioners will also continue work on its new budget. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m.
