Tennessee Tech Updates Campus Master Plan

Tennessee Tech Board of Trustees approved a proposal to add a new engineering building to the campus master plan.

Tom Jones is Chairman of the Board of Trustees.

“Remember this is really just to simply add the engineering building to the current master plan,” Jones said. “I guess when it becomes more under the privy of the board then it will be edited again at some point.”

The board will review and edit the campus master plan later in the year.

Plans for the new engineering building involve 60,000 square feet of net assignable space between University Drive and 10th Street.

The addition of a new engineering building to the campus master plan allows Tennessee Tech to have a stronger proposal for state funding for the facility.

The new engineering building is estimated to cost 54.4 million dollars.

In 2017, the board approved adding the new engineering building to the capital projects request list.
