Tennessee Highway Patrol Assists in White County Rescue

Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Operations Unit assisted in a White County rescue yesterday.

The White County EMA and Sheriff’s Office requested assistance in rescuing a fallen woman July 10. The woman had fallen off a forty-foot cliff in White County.

According to the report, kayakers heard the woman calling for help and contacted authorities.

THP Aviation Lieutenant Brad Lund, Troopers Brian Ramsey and Jason Johnson used the new THP Bell 429 rescue helicopter to locate the woman.

Authorities hoisted the woman approximately seventy-five feet into the air. According to THP, the operation took place on a ridge with minimal room.

THP transported the woman to an Erlanger Life Force Helicopter.
