Tech’s Bacchanal Auction Returns In Person This Saturday

Tennessee Tech’s 25th Annual Bacchanal Auction returns in-person after a two-year hiatus.

Event Coordinator Bevin Butler said attendees will see pieces across all art mediums from faculty, students, and alumni. She said all of the proceeds will go towards the Bacchanal Scholarship.

“It’s a sizable scholarship that we’re able to offer and it’s open to all of our students,” Butler said. “It doesn’t matter whether they’re a painting student or an art education student everybody is eligible. We even have incoming freshmen that are awarded this every year so it’s really a good cause.”

Butler said after two years without the event in-person, it will be a nice gathering where the community can come together and support Tech art students. She said the auction was held virtually but it thrives when potential buyers are able to see the pieces in real life.

In addition to original artwork, the festivities at Spankies will feature original recipes for attendees to try. The event begins at 1 p.m. with the live auction starting at 2:30 p.m.
