Tech’s Volpe Library has a new dean, hiring Kelly McCallister to the postion.
The announcement came from Tech Provost Lori Mann Bruce that McCallister would bring her vision and leadership abilities to the university’s library.
McCallister is coming to Tech after serving as associate dean and associate professor of university libraries at Appalachian State University. She also has experience as the director of library services for Full Sail University and as a librarian for Bethel University.
McCallister said the she was immediately drawn to the campus for its deep sense of community and commitment to student success.
McCallister comes from a family of engineers, allowing her to understand the university’s focus on STEM education. She said she was also drawn in after a conversation with Dean of the College of Fine Arts Jennifer Shank that focused on the school’s personal approach to student engagement.
