Four UC Counties Double Digit Unemployment

Four Upper Cumberland counties reported double-digit unemployment rates with Dekalb and Warren Counties among the highest rates statewide. Warren County’s unemployment rate stands at 12.7 percent, down from 17 percent in May. Last June, Warren County’s unemployment rate stood at just five percent. Unemployment Drops 6-8 Percent Across UC

Unemployment dropped between 6 and 8 percent across Dekalb, Van Buren and Warren Counties in May, the counties hit hardest by COVID 19 job losses. Warren, Dekalb, Van Buren Over 20% Unemployment

Warren County and Dekalb County posted two of the state’s highest unemployment rates in April according to data issued by the Tennessee Department of Labor. 148 COVID-19 Cases Tallied Across Region

COVID-19 cases continue to increase slowly across the Upper Cumberland with 148 cases reported Thursday. The Tennessee Department Of Health reported 82 Putnam County cases, 34 in Cumberland County, and 7 in Dekalb County. Jackson, Overton and Smith Counties reported 5 COVID-19 cases.
