Local Plant Leaves Endangered List

A plant native only to the Upper Cumberland is being removed from the Endangered Species List. The Cumberland Sandwort is a pink, flowering perennial, is only found in parts of Fentress, Morgan, Scott, and Pickett Counties. The plant rebounded from only 11 plants in 1988 to over 70 today. UC Tops 300 COVID-19 Cases

The Upper Cumberland’s number of COVID-19 cases has topped 300 positive tests, according to the Tennessee Department Of Health. 9,918 cases have been reported across the state, with 302 across our region. Van Buren’s 2nd Case, Putnam To 106 Saturday

The number of Putnam County cases increased to 106 Saturday with Van Buren County reporting a second case. The Tennessee Department of Health reports 9.189 cases statewide. Average 1,200 Tested In Putnam & Cumberland

An average of 1,200 residents have been tested in Putnam and Cumberland Counties for COVID-19. Putnam County reported 101 positive cases from 1,225 people tested in Friday’s report from the Tennessee Department of Health. Cumberland County has tested 1,178 with 67 positive tests.
