Crimes Decreased In UC Past Month

Crime across the Upper Cumberland during the stay at home order significantly decreased compared to last year. Cookeville Police Department compared crime statistics from March through April from 2019 to 2020. Captain Bobby Anderson said overall, crime decreased by 39 percent. Putnam Reports 46 Additional Positives

Putnam County saw a 19 percent increase in COVID-19 cases Tuesday with 46 additional cases. The uptick could be a data reporting issue. Nashville’s Health Department reported Tuesday that one of the companies conducting COVID-19 tests could not report its results electronically this weekend. The number of Upper Cumberland COVID-19 cases stands at 571 as of Monday’s reporting from the Tennessee Department of Health. That’s about 0.16 percent of the region’s population.
