Pickett Co. BOE Rejects Sole Bid For Solar Pavilion Project

The Pickett County Board of Education unanimously rejected the sole bid opened Monday for the construction of a solar pavilion. The Van Buren County School System has been awarded a $400,000 TVA Uplift Grant and Solar Pavilion. Volunteer Energy Cooperative is considering buying power from a new provider after increasing whole sale rates from TVA. UCEMC Customers Will Receive 1.6% Discount

UCEMC will give members a credit beginning next month to reduce monthly electric bills. The TVA Board approved the credit as part of a $200 million Pandemic Relief Credit plan. That reduces UCEMC’s wholesale power bill.
